  1. I mean, are you pissed because we might lose 100 games instead of 90? Why does that bother you so much? Suck is suck. What did the front office fail at? A three month rebuild in an offseason in which the 2 best players on the market were signed to contracts that a NL team would have to be criminally insane/stupid to sign? Signing guys like Wilson (yes, I'm aware of the deal he took. Did the Cubs try to blow that one out of the water? I doubt it), Darvish and Cespedes would have been significantly building towards the future. God only knows if they'll get Soler. I'm not holding my breath. Again, I wasn't expecting a team that was good so much as one that you'd have more hope towards the near future. I'm sorry, but I don't right now. It's great seeing Shark break out and I can't wait to see Rizzo, but Jackson is extremely dicey. Almost all of the other moves are just these piddling little stopgap/hope and pray options. They're just in a horrible, horrible position right now to be competitive in the near future. That's what Theo has been saying from the get go though. He knew this team wasn't going to be very good for a couple of years and has been trying to tell the fans to have some patience. I'm not saying it's the right route to go but it's not like we should be shocked that they're so bad and will be so bad for however long it takes for Theo to do his thing. They think this is the best way to go about making this team better for the long haul, just have to trust them that they know what they're doing.
  2. Just because Theo is building this team the way not a lot of people on here agree with, doesn't mean it's the wrong way. There are multiple ways to rebuild a team. Sure he's taking the long and frustrating route but I'm sure he feels this is the best way to go about it. I still trust that they know what they're doing even though watching this teams sucks ass.
  3. Hit a swinging bunt that was pretty much on the plate, Starlin didn't run and Kap freaks out. He thought it was foul but of course Kap has to overreact about everything.
  4. I think Starlin needs a mental day tomorrow. He's looked awful lately.
  5. I don't know what you mean by " decent prospects" but no team is taking Soriano on, even for free, for two more years after this one, and give up anything that resembles value whatsoever. A team looking for an OF would probably rather get an actual upgrade, instead of Soriano. Yeah, the numbers you posted look decent, but that's him in his hot streak at this point. We can deal him, pay all his salary, and my honest guess is we wouldn't even get one guy back that would slide into our own top 30 lists. I'm talking a DeRosa package. 2 intriguing arms and a high ceiling A baller that's not quite on someone's top 10. I don't think it's unreasonable. Are you planning on getting Ned Colletti drunk or something?
  6. W/L says a lot, but isn't the sole indicator of how good or bad a team is. And this team isn't losing 105 games. Agree, we'll be better once guys like Rizzo come up. He would have been our 3rd best hitter in tonight's lineup.
  7. Are people really complaining about Campana bunting? That's how he gets half his hits.
  8. Maybe if you include batting practice. 763 if you include batting practice
  9. What's the point of Soriano, especially when he's clearly not 100%?
  10. How much longer do we have to watch Soriano attempt to hit?
  11. That sounds like a terrible deal. I'm pretty sure you missed the Jim Hendry like sarcasm.
  12. Nothing like blaming the catcher when the pitcher misses his target by 3 feet.
  13. What was the alternative? Mather? Castillo? Someone who's actually a threat to hit it out of the ballpark.
  14. Am I the only one who didn't like Campana hitting in that situation?
  15. Clevenger to DL with tightness in his side. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ct-spt-0428-bits-cubs-phillies-chicago--20120428,0,5235581.story
  16. The biggest need is a good LT. We've got what? Potentially 4 Guards on the roster already? Spencer, Edwin/Chris Williams, Garza and one more I think but his name is escaping me. With this staff, the odds of them picking a LT are basically zero. And I believe Chris Williams and Chris Spencer are both free agents after next year. Picking someone like Osemele would have our right side of the line set for a long time.
  17. Kelechi Osemele could be an impact OL who will be available at 50. Dude is a monster who will most likely be a guard at the NFL level.
  18. I'd agree if Campana wasn't up. He can beat that out the majority of the time though. We haven't seen Dale play a lot of small ball this year, so I'm guessing that's why the bunt was on. It's up to Campana to get the bunt down.
  19. Probably as good of news as anything we'll get on the minor league front tonight. He's still got plenty of time for things to click. i wouldn't get too excited about him taking an intentional walk. It was 3-0 and then they intentionally walked him.
  20. I kind of hope Byrd has been playing hurt and just hasn't told anyone. It would at least explain his sucking this year. They need to make another move by tomorrow for Wells.
  21. Yep, RS-Sophomore. 3 years of eligibility. Does anyone have any idea which way he's leaning? Or is this kind of he just wanted out of Wisconsin, now he has to decide where he wants to go time? He's visiting Creighton on Monday, Iowa State in early May and the other two schools he's mentioned are Northern Iowa and Florida.
  22. Batting average? 1998 called, they want their stats back.
  23. Rayvonte Rice visiting Illinois tomorrow.
  24. Wisconsin lifted all restrictions except Big Ten schools. That's the way it should have been in the first place.
