  1. Maybe should’ve loaded the bases to face the pitcher? Could’ve navigated getting out with no runs then and/or got him taken out.
  2. Speaking of, is he still not doing any baseball activities or is he down in Arizona or something?
  3. The GBs are ticking up, 7 of last 12 outs he’s recorded have been GBs, 3 have been Ks, 2 have been FB. So 10 of his last 12 recorded outs have been Ks or GBs. He’s looked better and is getting results, I’m not saying he’s “fixed” or super reliever Carl is finally here after seeing glimpses. But he may have turned a corner to becoming useful in some capacity.
  4. Decent, but his strike out and groundball rates are still pretty disappointing given what he's done in the past. Promising, to be sure, but it's not like he's back to his old self. I think those are fine numbers for what is now our 4th to 6th best relief pitcher. It’s very encouraging.

  6. From another board... Kimbrel career through age 30 1.91 ERA 212 ERA+ 1.96 FIP 0.920 WHIP Rivera career through age 30 (taking out his rookie year where he started games and sucked) 2.13 ERA 223 ERA+ 2.80 FIP 1.041 WHIP
  7. And now with Kimbrel signed and Strop back him as a 6/7th inning option fits him much better.
  8. While this is mostly meaningless (good pitcher is good and it was done vs those teams with largely different rosters than current day rosters) it’s still kinda cool to see.
  9. Joe is putting on a clinic of bullpen management tonight, my god
  10. Do people usually get yanked in the seventh for D, though? When you have a multi run lead it makes sense to do it
  11. Kintzler coming in with a guy on 3B and less than 2 outs seems like a stupid decision.
  12. Because the throw was coming from the inside?Should pretty much always field a throw at a base with your throwing hand foot on the base, IMO.
  13. Yeah that was bad footwork, don’t know if it matters on that play, but it always is a pet peeve of mine when guys field throws balls at bags with their glove hand, foot on the bag (non 1B infielders seem to do it a ton).
  14. Willy catches that ball it’s strike 3, god damn it.
