I don’t get how the Dodgers win so much with Dylan horsefeathering Floro and Joe “right handed Justin Wilson” Kelly pitching in leverage spots for them
I’d hope we give him a start or two this year, even if it’s just to go 6-man 1 time through to give everyone rest and then in September use him like the VBs used Burnes/Woodruff last year, Dodgers and Stripling, etc.
He’s really been unbelievable as a Cub. Wasn’t he in the straight up 5+ ERA territory as a Ranger (though to be fair that park isn’t great for any pitcher) He was horrible but I think the park was a big factor, he also made a mechanical tweak right before he came over or as soon as he got here. IIRC.
I was going to reply and say something about how the Cubs are good enough that no week should be considered "a real chance to be a horsefeathering bloodbath", but then I looked at the schedule and saw 3 games at Coors and 4 at Dodger Stadium. Can certainly do well, but yeah thats about as tough as it gets. 5-5 between this weekend and next weekend would be fine and all I'm hoping for. Winning (or sweeping) this series would obviously go a long ways to making 5-5 the floor for next week.
Is it really that rare for guys who are draft prospects out of HS to be good athletes in HS at other sports? I don’t really think it is. I get there’s a theme with the guys we took but I don’t think it’s that unique
