I mean if the Cubs have a worst case scenario pitcher to go against its a low contact left hander. Cubs have faced 2 of the best in the last 2 nights in pitchers parks. 2 losses is not surprising. The only thing that truly bothers me from the last 3 games is the lack of quality starts from the bottom 3 in the rotation I'm with you on the quality starts, but I was really just bemoaning the fact that nobody else is losing. So, after a 21-4 stretch we picked up a few games on the Cardinals and Pirates and then in three days we lose pretty much all of that back - albeit in very losable games in terms of pitching matchups. Thankfully, we picked up a ton of games on the Giants, Dodgers and Nationals this month though.

It's really pissing me off that we can play so well, but then we lose three straight game and literally every team that we are in contention wins all 3 of those days except the loser of the Giants/Cardinals head-to-head game. This game isn't over, but it likely is going to be a loss.

Is there a chance that both the Dodgers and the Giants or both the Mets and the Nationals catch us? Sure. Is there a realistic chance? Absolutely not. I haven't been one of those crying doom and gloom about us missing the playoffs, though. Question. Who here has been crying gloom and doom? I don't think I've seen anybody worried we weren't going to the playoffs - only people saying other people are worried. But I also don't read every a single post, so it's very possible I missed it.

Hammel is going to earn everybody free Domino's. Cubs go back-to-back-to-back in the first. Rizzo will be involved in the dongfest.

I love the hype video. The same guy made a hype video before the season started and it has the same intro and music. I'm really looking forward to whatever season recap montage ABC7, WGN and/or CSN put together whenever the Cubs clinch.

The Royals defense probably has allowed only 1 total run the last 2 games to this point if playing in place of the Cubs defense.

Well I'm going to keep posting about our proximity to the Dodgers and Giants because I'm looking forward to when we clinch that spot like I'm a five-year-old counting down the days to Christmas. I also think it's completely rational to be "worried" that the Cubs don't play awful during this road trip and win at least 2 of the 6 games on the trip, which we have a really good chance of doing.
