Does anybody know if the teams get to set a different roster for the WC Game and LDS? I seem to remember they are two completely different rosters.

Wainwright wants to return this season. I vote for the option where he returns for Game 3 of the NLDS at Wrigley and we crush him to sweep the series. As Schwarber is hitting his third homer of the game (in the fourth inning) Wainwright tries to Ted Lilly his glove and in the process feels something pop and has to start his rehab over.

The Royals did the same thing last year. I think they do it to save for confusion when it comes to refunds for games not played. Or, they're all rich dudes who are investing the money and making interest off it while they hold it for us. And then I'm sure they'll just apply the refunds as a credit for next year's tickets. You get to pick. Refund or credit. Have you not gotten your email?

Um, the prices are really, really low in terms of what they will be selling for on the secondary market. Also, FYI, I just learned a couple of weeks ago that we can buy single game tickets from our reps for the same price as a the season ticket price with no additional fees! This is awesome since dynamic pricing is used. I bought a whole bunch of tickets for my dad's 50th birthday at less than half of what it would have cost me on StubHub or Cubs.com. can we buy additional playoff tickets too? I do not believe so, but maybe the full season plans will be able to? I have the combo. The letter (which is the same letter for both plans) doesn't say anything about buying additional tickets.

The same good umpires are good every year and the same bad ones are bad every year. 3. There is a huge difference between good and bad umpires. 4. The strike zone is getting larger as umpires try to call the "new" strike zone. We already knew this. I felt the strike zone was worse this year than last, but obviously my sample size is going to be very small (60-75% of pitches thrown in Cubs games this season I have observed - I guesstimate - and maybe 25% of pitches thrown in Royals games) and biased.* *Also, fangraphs has ran articles on how both Soler and Fowler are amongst the most screwed hitters this season. It also pointed out in that article that there is no correlation year-to-year for hitters' K zones, but that the correlation does follow catchers' K zones. I would be interested in seeing if there is a way to measure how much each umpire is influenced by framing. What seems odd to me though is the best umpires call more strikes, so it's not like good framers are fooling them. Maybe good framers are just giving them a better look on pitches down?

I'm just going to tell myself that this is just like any other three-game losing streak. Not like our offense was shut down at almost historic proportions in one of the games or that our pitching staff was blown to pieces for the other two games.
