  1. Funny you should mention this. I have a Cubs fan coworker with season tickets at Busch that just told me he'd sell me 2 of his bleacher seats for Friday at face value if the Cubs win Wednesday. JACKPOT!!!!! They had $13 seats on StubHub and didn't sell out their NLDS games last year.
  2. Not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but if we do reach the NLDS tickets for the Friday and Saturday games in St Louis are not insane. Pack that place in blue, please.
  3. I don't watch the show, but my roommate made me watch this episode in college just so I would get this reference because he used it so often.
  4. Outside of Arrieta if you could pick one guy to be the hero of this game who would it be? I'm having a hard time picking between Castro and Javy.
  5. I once was terrified about losing to the Cardinals in the playoffs, but in terms of bragging rights losing to them doesn't change much. Beating them, however, would be the best Cubs thing in my life. Well, until we follow that with a pennant win the next week.
  6. So for some reason the Cubs broadcast is not on DirecTV MLBEI after them being on every game so that's awesome. At least I have MLB.tv...
  7. Tomorrow is the last CSN game of the year and Sunday is WGN. Do we get two separate montages?
  8. Then they are a good way to kick off marriage. My wedding day was probably one of the worst days of my very good marriage.
  9. Weddings suck and cost way too much money.
  10. Went to my first game there Tuesday and my friend an I discussed how they need to do exactly this.
  11. My roommate got married on the night of the trading deadline. One of the other people in the wedding was a beat writer for a MLB team at the time. Multiple others had journalism careers covering baseball as well. And I am just a big baseball fan. He was getting really pissed we were all checking our phones. Dude, you're lucky half of them were able to come because of the date you picked. The beat writer informed me of the Gorzelanny/Grabiw trade before it broke during the rehearsal dinner.
  12. Going to be watching at my buddies house. He's a big Cubs fan and has a huge TV. Also, we are watching together because we both know if we watch together we won't go into full on rage mode like we would if we were alone.
  13. I really want something stupid like David Ross leading off and playing somewhere other than C or 1B. I know it won't happen, but I want it.
  14. The FedEx guy got here less than an hour after I got home from my trip to Chicago. I met him in the driveway. Nearly kissed the guy.
  15. Just started watching. I see Lester gave up a run in the first. Going to go back and see if we had anybody freaking out... Edit: well, that was boring.
  16. It's not looking as likely now as it did last week, but I'm really curious how the TV schedule would shake out for the LDS day when all 4 series are being played if the matchups were: Mets/Dodgers Cubs/Cardinals Royals/Yankees Rangers/Blue Jays That's a lot of big markets and big rivalries. I would assume the Rangers/Blue Jays would be the early game and I guess the Mets/Dodgers would be the last game just because the Dodgers are Pacific Time (but then again they're playing an Eastern Time team in a large market). Yankees are always a huge draw and I don't know if they ever don't play the prime time slot, but Cubs/Cardinals has never happened before in the postseason...
  17. So, it's going to be hard for me to ever experience a better regular season on games I've gone to in person. Please win the WS at home so I know it will never be topped ever.
  18. As long as Castro is playing. That walkup song...
  19. Yeah, this will be a fun one, though a lot of flipping between this one and Chiefs game if it stays close. I'm all for a Cubs-Royals WS except I'd come out of it a whole lot lighter in the wallet. If you notice my signature, this is anti-KC day for me. And, yeah, I've already got playoff merchandise for both teams, so...
  20. I'm pretty pumped about tonight, too. I've been/am a season ticket holder for both of these teams. I've seen the Royals more than any other team, but my devotion to them doesn't hold a candle my devotion to the Cubs. Should be a fun night watching a fairly meaningless game amongst two playoff teams that I love. Also, Cubs are 7-0 when I am in attendance and the Royals are 16-4, so this has been an incredible season for me personally.
  21. Took my son to Wrigley for the first time last night. The crowd was incredible. Interesting note: my first game at Wrigley was May 13, 1996 when Steve Trachsel 1-hit the Astros.
  22. At this point I'm just hoping the Cardinals and Pirtes end up tied.
  23. I really want to see the montage CSN Chicago put together.
  24. GO CUBS GO! GO CUBS GO! HEY CHICAGO WADDYA SAY? THE CUBS ARE GONNA WIN TODAY!
  25. My point isn't really about our offense. It's usually because the other team bunches their hits together at a higher than normal rate (sometimes because one reliever sucks).
