  1. Isn't it Thursday? --------------------------10 Brewers DH on Sunday------ (-2) Cubs Sunday-------------- (-3) Cubs Monday------------- (-4) Cubs/Brewers Tuesday------ (-6) Cubs/Brewers Wednesday---- (-8) Cubs/Brewers Thursday----- (-10) ------------------------- 0
  2. Crazy play in NY: 1st and 2nd. 1 out. Cliff Floyd lines one about two inches off the ground and Jeter knocks it down. The runners assumed he caught the liner so Iwamura was trying to get back to 2nd. The throw beat him but the 2nd baseman tagged him after he reached the bag. So, the outcome was that Iwamura was safe, the runner on 1st was out and Floyd was safe at 1st.
  3. Sounds good. Anybody want to carpool?
  4. I'm definitely pulling for the Brewers to win one of two tomorrow. I want: East: Mets Central: Cubs West: Dodgers WC: Astros or Brewers (I want a central team to win so the Cubs face the Dodgers)
  5. Do you know why was Coffman wearing AO's number today? Every game this season a different Tiger is wearing the uni #. Sulak wore it last week. Christopher wore it last week. Every game this year it'll be a senior that wears it. That's right. My bad. I got the LB's mixed up. Stryker's a DE ;) Yeah, but he drops into coverage often.
  6. So MLB obviously has no brains when it comes to the Cubs/Astros series, but look at the way they're dealing with the BOS and two NY double headers. Why in the world wouldn't they have started the first game at noon ET and played the second right after? Look at the radar. OK, I understand the money b/c you don't have to give a free game to half the people and then give the other half their money back, but they may not get the second games in now. At some point the importance of getting pennant-race baseball games in must precede some of the record-breaking revenue that MLB is bringing in.
  7. So where do you get to sit? We're on the 20, 3rd row, north side, so Maclin's one TD catch (not the one in the end zone and not the 80 yard one) was right in front of us.

  10. Got back from the Zou about an hour ago. My Tigers murdered Nevada 69-17 and it was AWESOME!
  11. I hope Hamels and the Phillies offense makes this a laugher. It'd be great if the bullpen had to throw a lot of innings the day before a DH.
  12. More rainouts expected today. 4 games in NY! Wow! Think of all the out-of-town scoreboards today. There will be plenty of games not on them.
  13. FOXNews is reporting fires in downtown Houston... Great decision MLB. McClane, you are an idiot.
  14. There are 20 scheduled MLB games tomorrow with 6 double-headers. There were 2 double-headers scheduled anyway, and 4 of tonights postponements are going to be double-headers tomorrow. The MIL/PHI game will likely get rained out tomorrow. This is ironic: They could play 2 on Sunday and one on Monday...
  15. That's impossible. (Assuming you're not including Philly in this scenario.) We can't clinch the division while there's still a team in our division we haven't eliminated yet. You're right. I used the wrong wording. We could eliminate the 2nd place team before we eliminate the 3rd place team.
  16. Whoa! Think of this crazy scenario. Brewers get swept by Phils. Cubs/Stros entire series is rained out and pushed to after the season. Both magic numbers would be 8, but the Brewers would still be 1.5 up on HOU. If the Brewers lose another and the Astros win another, the Brewers would be still leading by 0.5 game over HOU, but would have one more loss. So the division magic number would be 7 and the "playoff spot" magic number would be 8. Say they both match each other win-for-win for the rest of the year. The Cubs could clinch the division BEFORE they clinch the "PLAYOFF SPOT" (really the WC) WITH the best record in the league! I bet that has never happened before.
  17. yes it does... Magic number can go down if your team wins or the current 2nd place team in the division (or WC leader) loses. Our magic # is 12 for the division. As of now that means the Cubs needs to win and the Brewers need to lose a combined 12 games. That's it, very simple. Our magic # is 11. If the Brewers lose that will go down. For a playoff spot it is 8. It cannot go down b/c the Astros are idle and are tied for 2nd in the loss column in the WC race.
  18. If the Brewers keep falling all over themselves maybe we can clinch at Wrigley. Oh, wait, nevermind, we don't get to play this weekend........
