  1. Or April Lee. I'll go with any April 2005 Lee, July 2007 Zambrano and then you guys can pick the other months for everybody else. August 2003 Prior. :( September 2004 Prior. Remember his 9 innings 2 hit, 16 k baseball that we still lost? I remember paying attention to that game on gamecast in the library and during classes. That game was so depressing. But you can't beat his 0.69 ERA in 39 August 2003 innings. That was my first bleacher game at Wrigley.

  3. I was watching at home. I was 10. I remember feeling bad b/c I was so mad at Brant Brown and saying, "Even I could have caught that ball," and then I saw him crying in the dugout. Thankfully, we still got into the playoffs and that one-game playoff was one of the most memorable games I've ever had as a Cubs fan.
  4. 2003 and 1998 were monsterous. I didn't attend any of them, but this was the least suspensful of my lifetime...
  5. Mets lose. They cannot have a better record than the Cubs.
  6. Delgado just hit a 2-run HR. It's 7-6 ATL, 1 out in 9th.
  7. If the Cubs win, Mets lose, then they clinch HFA over the Mets but MN for HFA over PHI is 1.
  8. You can now download it for $.99 on Pearl Jam's Website. It's really good quality.
  9. 3 or 2 depending on how they rule on the unplayed Astros game. So basically it's in the bag. I would be ticked if the Cubs were up 0.5 game on NYM or PHI and they made the Cubs play that extra game for HFA. If they are just 0.5 game up on one of them then they would have a losing record against both teams so a loss would mean they lose HFA. Thankfully, we don't need to worry about it.
  10. Agreed. I hope they don't plan on continuing this throughout the playoffs.
  11. Since FOX's audio isn't working here I'm listening to a delayed WGN radio feed. Ron is about to blow a gasket. He sounds like he's going to die during every play. The routine flies he thinks are going out and each out the Cubs make is as if it's with bases loaded and two down.
  12. Just how I hoped in spring training, Wood will get the chance to nail down the division title!
  13. I just got back from the Mizzou football game to watch my Cubbies clinch, but our horrible FOX station can't get their act together on the audio so I'm left with static and screaching sounds. FOX is absolutely attrocious. I hate them. Nevertheless, I can't complain about a Cubs division title! Let's get 12 more outs! Go Cubs!
  14. You might be thinking of the Miles walk-off which I had to witness in person...
  15. I was excited because I thought Z was back, back to the August self that is.
  16. Hrabosky just said that Pujols is going for a Triple Crown for the fourth straight year. I'm assuming that he means that he's been close the last 4 years, but no, no he hasn't. And he's not close this year either.
  17. I think that's only in the AL. Really? That would be a strange rule to put in place if so. I thought they put it in place last year and that the choice would alternate between NL and AL. Thats correct. This year it is the NL's turn. The Cubs will get to pick which series they want. Huge advantage deciding which off-days they get. Longer spread out series or the quicker series in shorter days. MLB says otherwise. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/schedule/ps.jsp I just saw that. And here is why......lame....... It's based on Bud's stupid idea of the ASG deciding WS HFA... Scrap that and make the HFA depend solely on the best record overall.
  18. This is awesome! Great song!
  19. At this point, I'm almost not worried about them making the playoffs; I just want them to get it done and out of the way. I just don't like seeing bad ABs against bad pitchers. DeRo: popup 1st pitch. Soto: takes 2 hangers right there. Theriot: groundout 1st pitch.
  20. Man, DLee looked bad again on that one. Pulling off that outside pitch. That's when he's in trouble. Hopefully it was a one-time thing and he really is back.
  21. I'm getting tired of not having anybody on base.
  22. Fonteyes! I love guys like Theriot and Fontenot and Johnson.
  23. @ CLE @ KC vs. DET @ MIN Were we really @KC? The last time I remember playing them was 2002 and it was at Wrigley. The only other year that we've played the Central since was 2006 and we missed the Royals that year. They played in KC years ago. One night was on ESPN, which is the only time you can watch the Royals in my hometown, so you never get to watch them in my hometown. Both teams wore blue uni's which was confusing. That's all I remember from it.
