Wife's friend (Cardinals fan) was over yesterday. They showed up right when the ninth started. She kept saying something about South Dakota. I wasn't paying any attention so I didn't know why. In the top of the 11th we realized she thought they were the South Dakota (not San Diego) Padres... I mean, she actually watches Cardinals games. How does that happen?

Like the location yesterday struck out Myers? I'm not going to get bent out of shape about that pitch being called a strike on Soler on its own, but this series has seemed one-sided from my very biased eyes. Not saying it's on purpose (that's ridiculous), just that it has not been going our way with the home plate ump the last two days. And that just happens sometimes.

Yes. Borderline calls on an individual basis are going to go against you, but they really seem to be stacking up on one side and have killed some key AB.

Probably just my bias, but this homestand it seems the close calls have all gone against us. Not saying they're getting them wrong just that they have not been going our way.

I'm currently reading Up, Up and Away! By Jonah Keri. I now know why he seems to really like Theo and the Cubs. The parallels to the way the Expos front office ran the team due to financial limitations are apparent. Only, the Cubs should be able to keep whichever talent they development and decide is worth keeping.

We went to Cubs/DBacks series in 1999 (it was so glorious - only game the Cubs lost featured a 7-run 8th inning Cubs comeback down 8 against Randy Johnson started by a 486-ft HR by Sammy). My mom still refers to Diamondbacks games as a "Three-ring circus with a bad attitude."

You don't have an active VPN do you? Our company is based in Milwaukee so Brewers games are blacked out in our office in Kansas when I'm VPN'd. -

Have the Angels 10 Rangers 1 game on in the background while I work. Every time I look at the screen the Rangers broadcast is showing people in the stands going crazy in front of the camera. I guess you just have to see what I mean, but it is so weird.
