  1. Duke, what are you seeing that is wrong with Schwarbs right now? Have pitchers made adjustments and he's yet to adjust back at them? i don't see anything wrong with his swing or his approach, he's just not making solid contact consistently.
  2. I think Joe needs to give Schwarbs a couple days off to recalibrate, look at some film, maybe work in the cage with Mallee for a few days. He's way too good to look this lost.
  3. Wouldn't shock me to see the Cubs get the tying run to the plate at some point in this game. That's as far as I'm going to commit.
  4. I don't know if it's too soon to give Eddie Butler a shot. I think the Cubs give Anderson one more outing to show them he can handle this or it might be time.
  5. The only thing worse than sitting at home watching this horsefeather show would be sitting in the rain at Wrigley watching this horsefeather show.
  6. I could live with that deal, not sure Candelario alone would be enough though. You're probably right about the other 3, it would cost at least Happ or Eloy in a package.
  7. Cool. I thought I should have put this in transactions after I hit submit. Anyways, yeah Greinke is interesting but with the Diamondbacks playing pretty well I think by the trade deadline they will be in at least contention for a wild card spot so they may want to hang on to him.
  8. Who would have thought on May 1st there would be more angst over Schwarber's AB's than Heyward's.
  9. Interesting article by Buster Olney about the availability of several starters come trade deadline. Not that the Cubs will be in the market for one. Interesting names mentioned, especially Gerrit Cole, I can't really fathom the price tag he would carry but it would start with Eloy at least. Only pitcher I would be willing to go all-in-on would be Chris Archer (still has 4 years left on his team friendly deal), but Olney doesn't even have him listed. http://www.espn.com/blog/buster-olney/insider/post/_/id/16589/olney-starting-pitchers-are-flooding-the-market-so-who-could-be-traded
  10. I agree but selfishly I don't want to do anything to give Bosio any desire to leave the Cubs. Same, I don't want him going anywhere. I think it's pretty obvious that Theo and Jed suspended Bosio but kept it quiet. Making it public would have just brought more attention to the subject so I think they handled it well. You would hope Bosio got the message and gets back to work soon.
  11. Bullpen's been solid most of the year. Can't win em' all.
  12. once Bosio comes back from his informal suspension/personal soul-searching journey and tells the pitchers they're allowed to not give up runs in the 1st, watch out Yeah, I've been saying that ever since he left the team for "personal reasons". I wonder if Joe had any input or if that came straight down from Theo and Jed. I'm guessing just Theo and Jed.
  13. He was in a terrible position to make that call the fat donkey.
  14. SAFE!!! Jon Jay is so freaking heads up. What a smart vet.
  15. Damn. One mistake by Kyle, other than that he's been pretty awesome.
  16. I think it's funny that ESPN doesn't expand the zoom on KB's parents to include his wife and only mention his parents.
