  1. Seemed like a good spot for Zo to PH for Javy but what do I know. Saw that SO coming a mile away.
  2. Ok, that kid's smile after KB gave him the ball cheered me up a bit.
  3. At least JD is on fire with the zingers today.
  4. I'm going to bet JD doesn't know the Urban Dictionary version.
  5. Oops. Forgot my meds today. TT my apologies. Andy it's on you.
  6. No kidding. I'm sure the MLB has "random" testing, just like the police don't "randomly" pull over a driver leaving bar. See ya Starling, don't forget to wave bye bye to all your friends.
  7. The horsefeathering Game Day Starters are a bunch of horsefeathering jerks. TT needs to horsefeathing break this or he's just another horsefeathering jerk in a long line of horsefeathering jerks. This is NOT on the horsefeathering Cobs, not by a horsefeathering long shot.
  8. Next time Lackey starts someone needs to tell him it's the 3rd inning.
  9. Why they don't pitch around Braun more often is beyond me. Let one of those other bums beat you.
  10. Bring it home Duke. And don't forget to wear red tomorrow. :hello:
  11. http://www.espn.com/blog/chicago/cubs/post/_/id/43741/should-bullpen-be-a-concern-for-cubs This article by Jesse Rogers seems a bit reactionary after the bullpen's poor performance over the weekend. We get it Jesse, it's frustrating to lose games late but it's going to happen from time to time. He politely calls it a "concern" which maybe it is but what about before this weekend? Up until the Pirate series the bullpen had been pretty darn good with the exception of Strop. The Good: Edwards has looked great and if we had him over the weekend the Cubs probably don't get swept. Davis has been solid and seems to play the part of closer quite well. Uehara has had one bad outing out of 7 appearances otherwise lights out. Rondon has looked very good and probably the single most encouraging thing about the bullpen. Monty's first game was a brutal loss but he's decent enough since. The Bad: Strop didn't wake up one day and become a bad pitcher. I think he has the ability to rebound but it seems to be in his head right now, not a physical problem, and he just needs a coupe of good outings to right the ship. Grimm is a complete enigma, he has great stretches and then he falls apart again and I expect this trend to continue. Duensing was never really someone we thought would be a big contributor and was lucky to even be on the roster. So by my count the Cubs have 5 arms to count on, two arms that are good but are under performing, and one complete dud. So those are my "concerns".
  12. This is pretty much what happened. Seemed every missed call by the home plate ump had dire consequences repeatedly i.e. bad luck. The opportunities were there they just didn't execute which is better than the opportunities never being there in the first place. The bullpen which had been solid for the most part had a terrible weekend which made matters look worse than they probably were but the starters pitched well enough to win each game, especially Lester. They're fine, just need to keep plugging away and things will start to fall in their favor once again.
  13. I'm ready. Sometimes calls go your way sometimes they don't but it will at least level the playing field.
  14. Jake looked sharp. Some terrible calls and a wind blown homer but he fought through it and pitched well.
