  1. I didn't know the word "tendinitis" could sound so SEXY!!! Score 670 is reporting after just talking to Hendry that it is "minor rotator cuff tendinitis". He could miss a couple of starts but be back by the following weekend in Houston in a week in a half.
  2. If they are doing an arthrogram, they have to inject dye directly into the joint. I had one done earlier this year, and there was increased discomfort for about a week. I'm sure it's different for everyone, but at a minimum, they would probably have him miss two starts as a precaution following that procedure. Thanks for the info. I heard them talking about the procedure later on the radio. I'm praying there's nothing seriously wrong and he gets some rest for a few weeks. Remember last time he sat out for a few starts and came back with that great game against the Cardinals on July 4th, and followed it up with some great starts. After this is all said and done it might be a blessing in disguise getting extra rest. A fresh Zambrano for the playoffs is a good thing. I'm trying to be optimistic here. :beg:
  3. MLB Injury Report: Hill brought up to go on 15-day DL: The Cubs added Rich Hill (back) to the roster and placed him on the 15-day DL on Monday. (Updated 09/02/2008). Injury Report Back - 15-day DL. Out for the season (Updated - 9/2/08) Even if Hill were healthy at this point, I would have more confidence in Marshall, Marquis, or Guzman to start over him. Why the hell did hey bring him up if hes out for the season and not put him on the 60 day? They put him on the 40 man roster. Something about protecting their rights to him. It's one of those "years of service", waiver wire, call ups things that I very rarely understand. All I know is the Cubs wanted him on their 40 man roster for some reason. They had to do something similar with Guzman while he was in the minors too. All this DL and roster standing stuff is confusing as hell.
  4. What was different about their stories? I forget what Deluca said. Deluca (and ESPN) says that he missed the MRI because of a personal matter he had to tend to. Rogers says it's because he doesn't want the injection. I can't believe the hosts didn't ask him why Deluca had completely different info. Kind of a big difference between those 2 stories. I'm starting to think it's a combination of both stories. Z didn't want to get the MRI done at first, but had some personal matters to attend to after his doctor visit, and after thinking about it, decided to get the test done today. :banghead:

  7. Jesse Rogers is supposed to be on at 7:45. I'm kind of curious where his story stands...My big problem with all this is if Zambrano had some personal matters to attend to and said he would take the test today, why the hell wasn't Lou told. Lou was left hanging in the wind on this one. Something doesn't add up. It makes it sound like the "personal matters and getting the test done on Thursday" was put together to protect Zambrano. If Lou knew this story you would think he would have just said this, which makes me think it's a BS stroy or someone in the press relations department really dropped the ball. I hate that they left Lou hanging to preserve Zambrano's supposed story. Who knows, and I actually don't really care as long as he gets the test done.
  8. The Cubs need to save Zambrano from himself. There's no way the organization trots him back out there without knowing if he's ok for sure. Get the test done and then we all will know for sure. The sooner the Cubs and Z know, the sooner they can start planning their strategy. Zambrano is being a little silly about this.
  9. Does it matter what Z thinks? What Zambrano thinks doesn't give me much comfort at this point. If he feels like it's the same thing from July then that's probably good news. The MRI will settle the issue. Like I said, best case he strained his shoulder and needs some time off. SHUT HIM DOWN. He can come back the last series and pitch a few innings to see how he feels, and get ready for game 3 of the NLDS.
  10. The last story on 670, yes just now, about Z not wanting to not have the test because he would miss two starts due to the injection for the MRI. They have changed their story since last night so who knows. But I could definitely see Zambrano being stubborn about the whole thing. He wants to rest and be ready in a couple of weeks in his mind, but the Cubs need to know if it's something more serious. Zambrano will lose this pissing match and probably get the test done today I would think.
  11. They said on the Score 670 that Big Z didn't want to take the injection the MRI requires because it would shelve him for two starts. Does an injection from an MRI cause stiffness or discomfort? Supposedly the treatment needs time to wear off for 10 days or so. Either way, Zambrano said he thinks it's the same problem he had back in July and he thinks rest will do the trick again, but this didn't seem to do it last time. I just wish he would get the test done so the medical staff can know for sure. The best case scenario would be rest until the last week, then maybe a spot start of a few innings the last week, and have him ready to start game 3 of the NLDS.
  12. On a side note... CC has pitched extremely well, there's no denying that, but has anyone noticed the teams he has had to face since coming over to the Brewers. In his 11 starts, only three have come against teams over .500. One of his two no decisions came against the Cubs, which was the only team that actually did anything off him. The other two over .500 teams were against the Cardinals and the Astros. He has shut down those pesky Padres, Giants, the Pirates twice, Reds, Nats, Braves, and a depleted Rockies team in his first start. Now I'm not saying C.C. hasn't earned the accolades he has received since coming over, it's just an observation.
