1. Well if Chi-Ball said it, it must be true! Seriously dude, find a better source before posting this crap.
2. I think Harden just dialed it down a bit on his velocity tonight to make sure his arm was ok. He can still fire them at 94 when the time calls for it. He was changing the velocity of his pitches very well tonight, and had the Cardinal hitters off balance most of his 6 innings. I actually think this is a better Harden, pitching to contact a bit more, cause the strike outs run up his pitch count. Jeez, he pitched as good if not better than I thought he would considering there was a lot of angst over how he would do tonight. Some of you guys are a bunch of chicken little's sometimes.
3. There was supposed to be word on this a couple of hours ago. This "no news yet" makes me think that MLB is figuring out the "neutral site" scenario, making the necessary phone calls to other ballparks, travel plans, and television crew changes. If they were just going to play on Sunday and Monday in Houston, wouldn't they have just announced this already?
4. So now they are saying if this was the scenario set up for DH Sunday and 3rd on Monday the Cubs would just come back to Chicago tonight. I guess they figure they can get into Houston late Saturday night after the storm has passed? It's supposed to hit in the morning on Saturday, will it be cleared out enough to fly into Houston, or will the Cubs have to fly into somewhere Southwest of Houston and bus in? San Antonio is 200 miles away to the west, away from the storm path. Who knows.
5. Heard the same report. A Double Header on Sunday and 3rd game on Monday. We will know for sure what's going to happen in a little less than an hour supposedly. This is fine, but won't the Cubs have trouble getting into Houston if they stay away until Saturday night. I guess the Cubs would still have to go to Houston tonight and ride out the storm all weekend waiting to play on Sunday. What are we going to do with ourselves on Friday and Saturday? AHHHH! Seriously, this sucks. Hopefully watch the Brewers, Cardinals, Mets, and Diamondbacks lose I guess.

7. The Cubs are missing Oswalt and Wandy Roderigez as of right now. They are throwing two rookies at the Cubs as fill in starters this weekend. This is the best time to play Houston, just not in Houston. And yes, getting swept would not be good, but losing 2 of 3 would only allow Houston to gain one game with 14 to go. The Brewers will have their hands full with the Phillies so I don't see them gaining much if any ground, even if the Cubs lose 2 of 3 with Houston. At all costs, the Cubs need to avoid the sweep, 2 out of 3 would be bonus. Think of it like a football game and trying to run out the clock.
8. That's crazy. MLB should step in. That's the problem. I think MLB already did step in and this is their decision. Although 670 the Score tends to be wrong in their reports from time to time, and the final word has yet to come out. Hopefully Hendry and Crane are working the phones to figure out a compromise to ensure the safety of their players. Just because the team will be staying inland, doesn't mean that the conditions aren't dangerous. These storms spawn a tremendous amount of tornadoes. Maybe the Cubs will refuse to go? Do they forfeit their games? This is ridiculous.
9. They have been saying on 670 the Score this morning that the series will still be played in Houston, but times and days will change. More than likely the will play Friday afternoon, Sunday and Monday. Either way, it's kinda of reckless of MLB when there are other more safe options availible. If the Astros lose a series at home, those are the breaks.
10. I kinda agree with the Japanese Anime pics they are creepy, but the old school stuff is ok...i think?
11. I thought this photo was from Hot Chicks with Douchebags for a second. Then I realized it was Cuban. My fault, Mark. Please still buy the Cubs. In other news, let's get a win tonight. I'll be out there in what looks like will be rain, rooting on the fellas. So rock on Harden. I hope the weather cooperates. The forcast is 50% showers all day and a 70% chance of showers tonight so that doesn't sound too good. If it looks like there will be rain delays then shouldn't the Cubs hold back Harden another day? Or at least be prepared to sit him after a rain delay, and piggy back Guzman/Marshall. Marshall threw 103 pitches on Sunday so I don't think he's an option for more than maybe a couple of innings. Rain delays will cause a bullpen cluster F.
12. There are too many teams that have to lose every day to worry about with the WC magic number IMO, the Mets could even figure into this WC mess too if they get overtaken by the Phillies. Whereas the Division Magic number is completely in the Cubs control starting next week. Do you really want to fall out of the divisional lead and get thrown into a potentially messy WC race worrying about 2 or 3 teams and what they do the rest of the way? Let the Brewers worry about that. The more I think about it, I would just a soon see the Brewers go down this weekend and increase the divisional lead. If the Cubs could just go around .500 the rest of the way, the whole point is "mute" as Lou would say, and the Cubs will be in one way or another.
13. Yeah, I just read the Rodger article too. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-080910-phil-rogers-chicago-cubs-hurricane-ike,0,4373647.column Anyway, there's absolutely no reason MLB should make the Cubs go to Houston, play a day game on Friday, then "hunker down" through a dangerous storm, only to play again on Sunday and Monday, possibly having to play a doubleheader on Monday if the weather is still bad on Sunday. This is ridiculous, putting players lives in danger during a dangerous Category 3 or 4 Hurricane. Once the Cubs get in on Friday, they are pretty much stuck until at least Sunday night or Monday morning. I doubt they would get much rest during the storm, probably lose electricity, phones, etc. Hey, aren't the Brewers on the road? Wouldn't that be classic, running the two teams up to Milwaukee to play there. And they have a roof, so no rain outs. Makes sense to me, but considering how many Cub fans would make the trip, it might not be fair to the Astros as far as HFA.
14. I have every confidence in Woody here, but I wouldn't mess around too much if it becomes obvious he doesn't have his good stuff. Guzman or Samardjiza should be getting warm if Woody gets in any trouble.
15. Sorry but....ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Do you have any idea how devastating a loss this would be, with Lilly cruising through 8 and Woody came in and blew it.
16. Shhhhh...He's in the zone dude. ;)
17. Albert's batting 4th this inning. Would like to see him leading off the 9th with no one on.
18. Lilly pitch count a very low 72...I'm not gonna say it, but I know what I want.
19. Not even close Luddy...you just got Lillied.
20. Pamela Anderson lost her virginity.
21. Good lord Lee. I know the guy's a vet and a "heart and soul" kind of player, but I wouldn't mind seeing Micah get a start or two and give him a couple of days off. Micah is one of better defensive 1st basemen in the PCL from what I've heard, so you might not lose much there.
22. Cubs are back to their patient ways? Hope so. Come on Ryan!
23. Nice AB Felix. He actually looks like he has a clue. In his defense, he was hitting the ball extremely well in Iowa the second half of the season, batting .373 in July and .284 in August. He ended up with a .287 average after a terrible start after getting sent down.
