  1. That old adage about "you better get to him in the first" in full effect here. Another thing Maddox and Kyle have in common.
  2. he's the guy you want up in that situation? LOL. Guys I would prefer in that situation: Bryant Rizzo Schwarbs Contreras Russell To each their own I guess. Zobrist has arguably the best eye on the team and doesn't strike out in those situations too often. We needed contact to move the runners along, it just didn't work out.
  3. he's the guy you want up in that situation? Absolutely. When all you need is contact and not strike out.
  4. Tough night when the number one guy you want up at in that situation hits into a DP.
  5. Schwarbs was pressing. First time I think I've seen him do that.
  6. Minus a couple of hiccups on opening night, the bullpen looks great.
  7. It's early but JHey looks ten times better at the plate than last year.
  8. I was in the Left Center bleachers at Chase Field for the Schwarber collision last year. About 50 feet away and could actually hear it when they collided.
  9. You know that scared the hell out Heyward, his first reaction isn't to gather the ball, it was to check on Javy.
  10. Easily...between getting to the ball quicker and his arm, that slow horsefeathers runner's out by 10 feet.
  11. Yeah, he's been pretty rough. I get that he's new to this but he better get it together soon or they may be looking for a replacement.
  12. lol, I thought the Truthers went away about 10 years ago.
  13. JH, leading the team in hits so far...good for him.
  14. I heard that Gammons interview this morning, not to contradict your guy at work but Gammons never said that. There was speculation about it but there was no confirmation.
  15. Yadi's post game interview a reporter asks him if he put any substance on his chest protector. Yadi seems to get agitated and calls it a "dumb question" all the while he plays incredulous to the whole situation. Actually Yadi, it's not a dumb question. Are you putting a substance on your chest protector to help keep balls in front of you? Are you wiping the ball on your chest protector before throwing the ball back to your pitcher? Regardless that chest protector has probably found it's way to the nearest incinerator.
  16. Great job by the bullpen today, except Pedro.
