  1. He said he's a slow starter, I guess he wasn't kidding.
  2. This Marquez kid is dealing. Cubs look helpless at the plate. Hope they can get to him the 3rd time around.
  3. Nah, he booted it and didn't get in front of the ball when he had time to do so. He was too worried about trying to turn the DP instead of fielding it cleanly. Nice job by Kyle to limit the damage to 1 run.
  4. I forgot Lester threw so many pitches on Sunday. Probably a good idea to move him to Sat and let either Monty or Butler start Friday. I think I saw somewhere where Joe said he wanted to wait and make sure they got today's game in before making a decision.
  5. tbh I'm gonna throw a tantrum if he doesn't start Friday or Saturday Eddie Butler? I'd like to see what he's got. Can't Lester start Friday, he pitched on Sunday.
  6. A little bit. He's still awkward as hell, but he has some decent insight. He seems terrified of the camera and refuses to look into it I was listening to Hollandsworth do a Marlins game and he's solid. I see much bigger things for him in his future.

  8. You're right. The Central is so loaded the Cubs don't stand a chance. Season over, good call. This is the reason I'm not actually worried. The Cubs should be able to piss while sitting down and still win the division by 10 games Edit: I'm still kind of worried though, but not to the point i want them to stand up to piss If the Cubs were in any other division right now I would be moderately concerned, but I think you could go a low as 86 wins and still win the division. They're still going to win 90+ but there should be plenty of room for error.

  10. Time to watch The Leftovers. Yankees outplayed the Cubs all weekend long in every facet of the game.
  11. I just think with the money invested in him they might stash him in the bullpen once he comes off the DL. Rather have Rob Z though.
  12. So do we DFA Anderson? Serious question. I kind of doubt it.
  13. Szczur is like the 27th best player on the 40 man right now, losing him is not a big deal. He didn't have a spot, I get that, but it would be a kick in the horsefeathers if he goes to St. Louis. They have a need for another outfielder, I could see them pouncing on him if they get the chance. Regardless, I liked Matt and hope he goes somewhere where he can get more playing time.
  14. To add insult to injury I'm betting the Cardinals pick up Szczur.
  15. See ya Brett. He hardly knew ya. Look on the bright side, now you'll have more time to post cute tweets.
  16. I think this team is required to lose the first game of every series and then come back to win the next 2.
