  1. Not sure what Pressly did to get the closer role back, but that clean appearance was only his 2nd in his last 12.
  2. It's not even a matter of if Nico will ever hit a HR again, it's me in disbelief he ever hit one to begin with.
  3. And he left the game after a few pitches in the 6th because he turned his ankle walking back to the mound. I can't say I've seen that before.
  4. I do want Horton and I have no idea why they went back to not having an opener for Brown after he dominated back to back starts with one. Rea for me is the easy drop.
  5. The pitch literally might have been closer to the dead center of the zone than to being a ball.
  6. Holy horsefeathers ump, that was awful. Like dear god that was awful.
  7. Brewer super prospect Jacob Misiorowski is through 5 no hit innings in his major league debut against the Cardinals. 5IP 0H 0ER 3BB 5K on 78 pitches
  8. I know it's not officially the mid season report yet, but still kind of expected Wiggins to appear.
  9. It's not about Chapman not being good, it's about him being a dick. I'm not dumb enough to believe all the current Cubs are nice guys, but when I actively know a player is a dick, then I'm not interested in bringing them in. I'm not going to cheer for a piece of horsefeathers just because he's on my team.
  10. Don't see that line too often
  11. As if I needed further reason not to watch the White Sox or the Bulls.
  12. Surely Dansby not making contact wont screw the Cubs, right?
  13. I wonder if the Cubs don't say to themselves, hey the type of pitching we really need isn't out there, so maybe we just make an absolutely insane offense and bring in Bregman. Then they just fill the rotation with lower cost guys who are FAs at the end of the year. Bregman is almost certainly opting out after this year so there isn't much commitment.
  14. Baltimore is suddenly white hot, albeit a lot of it is against some pretty bad teams. They're now 10-3 over their last 13 and back to a bad but not horrific 11 under .500.
  15. God would i be pissed off if it cost 2 top 10 players in a pretty good farm system to get a guy who has been awful this year and super mediocre last year because he was last good in 2022. This isn't too far off from wanting to throwing top prospects away on Luis Robert. It just doesn't make any sense to me.
  16. Remember when Luzardo led the NL in ERA just 2 starts ago.......
  17. I'm gonna throw out a hot take. What about Sugano? I'm not saying he'd be the only move, but he'd be an interesting pick up as a 2nd pitcher. He's a FA after 2025 and I think his peripherals would absolutely suppress any return he'd bring. He's a really strange pitcher. His peripherals suggest he shouldn't be anywhere near this successful and yet he shows no signs of slowing down. I do expect some regression but his abnormally low babip and abnormally high lob% really aren't terribly out of line with average numbers in Japan. He seems to do an extremely good job at limiting hard contact and walks almost no one. With the Cub defense behind him, I'd be intrigued to pick him up if the going rate is like someone like Kipp.
  18. The cost would certainly be high, but how many teams can offer what the Cubs can as far as multiple immediately MLB ready players that are legit prospect.
  19. Crush the nationals playoff hopes and don't leave Washington without Gore.
