  1. Still don't think the Cub bullpen is a very high priority at the trade deadline unless it's a crazy arm like Clase/Jax/Miller.
  2. PCA with what looked like a flyout and it lands in the bleachers, crazy.
  3. 84 pitches through 6. I know they wont bring him back out, but I'd be real tempted.
  4. Dbacks looking like they're going to bury the Cardinal's season, up 9-0 after beating the Cardinals 7-3 yesterday.
  5. Please discover the plate discipline that made you exciting last year, thanks.
  6. I wonder if Wiggins could step into the bullpen right now and potentially be a lockdown guy? It wont happen because Horton and Brown will step into that role, but damn.
  7. Nah, that's just GM speak. He can't say, we badly need a top half of the rotation starting pitcher because if he isn't able to land one, he looks really stupid.
  8. It's legitimately absurd how inept the Dodger offense is against the Brewers. In Almost 4 complete games now, 1 of which went to extra innings, the Dodgers have scored 4 runs.
  9. Really nice win out of the break against a Red Sox team that was white hot going into the break. Take one of these next two and move on.
  10. Immediately doesn't work because he's using outdated FV. Anyone who thinks Caissie, Rojas and Ballesteros are 45s is either high and/or delusional.
  11. Hot take, what about Luis Robert as a lefty masher off the bench? He's completely and totally useless against righties, but he still hard mashes lefties to a 144 wRC+ this year. He does nothing to address 3B, but he'd address 2 of the benches biggest weaknesses(LHP/power). That he should cost just about nothing and could be dumped after the season is pretty enticing.
  12. There is no recent world in which a rental hitter has cost a top 50 prospect, let alone a top 50, with helium and they're MLB ready.
  13. This would be the limit of where I'd go. If he'll basically waive that 2027 mutual option and make it a guaranteed 20M, then it's a worthwhile risk. If he's looking for more then one year and I'm absolutely out.
  14. My guess would be no. He's 34 and they already have him under contract next year.
  15. Basically this. He should have earned everyone's trust at this point. edit: To be fair, I don't see it at all with Kepley either, but he's had multiple picks that I didn't see it working and yet they did.
  16. Griffin Jax is pretty insane. I wouldn't at all surprised if the ask for him alone was something like 1 of Caissie/Ballesteros/Wiggins/Rojas. 14.17K/9 with a 2.18 BB/9 is just absurd levels of good and he'd be a Cub for the next two years as well. There's also a number of people out there who feel he's a guy who could be converted to a starter.
  17. 2 weeks left until the deadline; don't drag this out Jed.
  18. I'm where I was a few weeks ago. An at least mid rotation starter who you can actually have make a playoff start is a must. Behind that I have a 3B bat, not necessarily a full time 3B but a bat who can play 3B if need be. 3rd on the list I'm split between a nice solid back of the rotation inning eating SP like Charlie Morton or a true closer/elite set up man. I'm not entirely convinced the pen is a major need, especially with Horton and Brown probably headed there in the not to distant future, but if you can get a really elite arm then by all means. At this point with Ryan seemingly off the table and Cabrera being hurt, I'd be all in on either Kelly or Lugo. Snag Charlie Morton and Willi Castro and call it a deadline.
  19. Man the 11th round and after used to be more exciting than this, we're getting like what maybe 2 players in the top 250 taken per round at this point? This is incredibly boring.
