    Yeah it's not like a drastic overpay or anything, but it is a guy who has legit mid rotation, maybe even higher upside. Personally I don't like catching prospects, but Tait is nice. The guy has been more or less a league average bat at age 18 in A+ while playing catcher and having respectable BB% and K%. For me at least, Tait all comes to if he can stay behind the plate because I'm not sure the bat is exciting enough to carry him at 1B or COF.

    They didn't get Painter but that's still a big haul.

    Meh, I don't think too much of Gilbert I think you maybe hope you can get a Mike Tauchmann out of him. Tidwell has significant control issues and not enough stuff that you can just overlook it. I think he's destined for the pen. In my eyes they were both guys who were going to fall down the rankings once the end of year reports come out.

    Supposedly the Twins are asking the Phillies for Painter in order to trade Duran which is absolute insanity to me. The guy was the #1 pitching prospect in the game pre TJS some have him a top 10 prospect in the game right now . I know he hasn't come back blowing people away, but he's fresh off TJS. Even with Duran being crazy good, hell no.

    He got absolutely destroyed a couple weeks ago for 10 hits and 6 ER in 3IP against the Yankees.

    Hot take, I found just about every character in that show unlikeable.

    How are you missing the point? I wasn't calling out Jed. I never mentioned Jed or the Cubs. It was a general point that things need to get moving MLB wide because it's boring when nothing happens until the last 12 hours.

    There's too many holes to address strictly through trade, they're going to have to bring some guys up and hope for the best.
