  1. Well, he does have a tiny, tiny strike zone.
  2. Kind of like that, eh? No O and no D! I always liked Cedeno. I'd certainly take him over Piles.
  3. My thoughts exactly, except Hendry needs to fix the bullpen too. Move Theriot to second, find a good SS, make a decision on Harden (I hope we keep him but I'm not counting on it) and add some friggin depth. I swear, I almost had a stroke when I realized Hendry was willing to go with Miles, Johnson and Gathright as our primary bench players this year. Sincerly awful.
  4. Just a cherry on top of a ridiculously sorry Cubs season. 2004 all over again (even though I though Hendry made all the right moves in 03/04).
  5. Ah yes, the ultimate winning combination. Two of Hendry's GREAT offseason moves.
  6. I have to admit I thought Kosuke was terrible. He's really having a good season.
  7. I wish he was more like this Shark: *image removed*
  8. Guzman throws his slider at 90. Goodness.
  9. I like how Len says his name........no enthusiasm whatsoever. I mean, Len is a total pro but you can tell he is thinking "god this guy sucks" when he announces him. Can we please just get rid of this guy? Every time I see him in the batters box I want to throw up.
  10. It'll be important to keep Holliday (and Larussa, maybe) if the Cardinals want to keep Pujols. Pujols seems loyal but not blindly loyal. If they have a good team around him, I can't see him leaving. That being said, it should be interesting to see what happens to Holliday this offseason. He's having quite the contract push and the Mets, Red Sox and Yankees will all be looking for a corner outfielder in the offseason. That, plus Scott Boras, and you have quite the situation.
  11. Who is better, Jermaine Dye or Matt Murton? I say Gingerballs, he is patient.
  12. I don't know what you're talking about, dude. The Cardinals have issues just like every other team but, overall, they look pretty damn good right now. Lugo, DeRosa and Holliday were three big upgrades.
  13. I really want the Cubs to stop taking players from Notre Dame.
  14. Cubs fans HATE Aaron Miles. And rightfully so.
  15. He's out making tires, of course !! Hey-OH!
  16. Nice to see him going in the tank right when I pick him up on my fantasy team. Given that I am in a league with many of the BFIB, I plan on holding out and trading him in the offseason for a king's ransom.
  17. Is Beckham really a better third baseman than ARAM? I know he was a SS in college but I've seen some fugly plays by him over at the hot corner.
  18. This will be his 2nd start in RF this season. I hope he celebrates by hitting a couple of bombs.
  19. But if the Cubs get draft picks for Grabow (if hey offered arb) then their is a chance the draft picks would >>>>>>>>Ascanio and Harrison. Here's the thing: The only players to accept arbitration last year were relievers. It is not a done deal that Grabow would not accept. Then, if he doesn't accept, another team has to sign him. If he's Type A, would you give up your first pick for him? If he's not Type A, you don't get 2 picks. Yes, Grabow will accept arbitration. Nobody is going to pay draft picks for him.
  20. Right, that's why a pitcher like Lincecum is even more impressive, because he limits the amount of opportunities for his defense to screw up by striking out more guys. He takes care of more outs without even involving the defense so he's more valuable.
  21. Heilman and Samardijza have no business on this roster besides mop-up duty. Could Grabow potentially close? I mean, I just don't trust gregg in a big spot and maybe he could be useful in the sixth or seventh inning. This bullpen has some pretty good parts, but I don't think they're being used very efficiently.
  22. What a horrible, horrible loss. goddam it.
  23. Well, starting a thread like this got Kosuke back on track. Hopefully it does the same for Marmol.
  24. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand back to second.
