  1. I'm actually moving out to Denver that weekend. Maybe I'll go see our beloved Cobs in enemy territory.
  2. I think because second base has been a black hole of suck for the Cubs all year. Sanchez would go a long way to remedy that.
  3. Yeah, based on his stuff I don't think he's hopeless, but I don't want to see any more starts out of him.
  4. Yes, bringing in a mentally unstable player to play under the pressure of wrigley and the Cub's fan was a terrible move. I was hoping initially that Hendry was on to something, but its obvious more than half way through the season the move is not paying off. I just never saw it from him. He put up great numbers last year playing in a bandbox with 12 people in the stands. Nobody was there to watch him anyway, it was all about Hamilton and his great story. Plus, they had the luxury of playing him at DH. Some players can handle the fishbowl of playing for the Cubs. I never thought bradley was one of those guys and, unfortunately, I think we're stuck with him. Milton Bradley is OPSing 900+ in front of those crazy Wrigley fans that he can't handle. Heh, is sure doesn't feel like he's produced liked that (even at home so far). He certainly hasn't performed like I had hoped.
  5. Wrong Sanchez. Wasn't that Alex Sanchez he was ga-ga for? uggggggggggh alex sanchez. the cubs could not get him out for some reason. actually maybe that's why sunnydoo would have wanted him so much, he only saw him play against the cubs and therefore thought he was awesome. or more likely it's because sunnydoo was mentally ill. Nothing wrong with signing guys that we can never get out. If not, we never would have gotten Jeff Blauser or Aaron Miles. Im sure we'll one day end up with Nyjer Morgan, long after his legs have failed him. I can't wait to see a 400 lb. Carlos Lee manning RF in 2013.....
  6. I've heard that too, but it's just message board drama. Chris Duncan is the most hated player in STL with TLR a close 2nd. I would highly doubt that there is any truth to it. It boggles my mind that TLR is hated in St Louis. If he leaves, Pujols could be right behind him. There is a reason he has won so many games. Based on the "best fans in baseball" rep, they should be worshipping the ground he walks on.
  7. I can't imagine how a scrub like Wellemeyer could do anything but graciously accept LaMullet and Duncan's suggestions. He's not good so you'd think he would listen to them if he wants to continue his baseball career.
  8. I guarantee Milton Bradley leaves town as one of the most hated Cubs ever. The recent espn article mentions how he has really poisioned the Cubs clubhouse. I'd do whatever it took to get rid of this guy. Seriously, what a horrible decision to bring him here. Just another example of how inept the Cubs front office is. 10. It mine as well be 500 games. This team is terrible and lacks any kind of chemistry; the players appear to pretty much hate one another. I blame Lou Piniella, Milton Bradley and Jim Hendry. The fact that the "we need to get more left-handed" talk continues even after the offseason of fail makes me yearn for a shotgun blast to the head.
  11. All baseball uniforms are awesome.
  12. it'd be really nice if joel pineiro remembers that he's joel pineiro. this would also be a nice time for ryan franklin to remember that he's ryan franklin. Ryan Franklin....................................on steroids.
  13. It seems like he's always coming up with men on base. He's perfectly fine for a backup catcher but I hope Soto is back soon.
  14. Agreed, it was awful times a billion and things like this from Lou drive me crazy.
  15. Absolutely, he truly is unique. I remember a funny quote when he was talking about Brett Boone. He said something along the lines of, "I don't think of him as a human being, the things he does makes me think of him as more of a creature, and I treat him as such."
  16. The core of a 97 win team? The bottom line is the Cubs will be able to continue to compete because we're going to spend more money than the other teams in the division. Injuries, players not performing to standard, etc. can happen to anybody. There's a little luck that goes into everything. However, chicago is a destination unlike any other city in the division and we spend more. There will naturally be some ebb and flow but as long as managment spends money, the Cubs will be perennial threats in this division. I don't think I'd trade the Cubs next 5 or 10 years for anybody else in the NL.
  17. Ichiro is a cool guy.
  18. The fact that the Cubs sale has been such a long and complex process only suggests that the Cubs are an incredibly valuable franchise (and also, being sold by a broke company).
  19. Is this the one with the different scene? It was getting old when everyone of them was the same scene repeated with different words, but at least the new scene made it a little better. For some reason it's the only Youtube video I never get tired of. I can watch Hitler bashing on the Reds, Cubs, the Rockets, Cowboys...whatever. I still laugh. Me too. I laugh just about every time. When he really gets going, he comes close to the passion displayed by Cub fans (except he thirsted for world domination).
  20. Well, the "best fans in baseball" also looked like red-necked idiots when they heartily booed the President.
  21. Speaking of men in mummuu's......
  22. Good to know that Hitler wouldn't have traded DeRosa, and he also wanted Adam Dunn. Hitler for Cubs GM?
