  1. Contrast how Brenly reacts to a close pitch versus the Hawkeroo.
  2. Agreed. I don't think I saw 1 good AB from Casey last season (and he had plenty of shots in September). At least the Cubs, after all the drama yesterday, look like an actual professional baseball team.
  3. Think about somebody, at any point last year, saying they would actually like to see this lineup and not be kidding. Oh my.
  4. Jacque Jones hit 27 home runs in his first season here.
  5. I'm not going to degrade his job because he has more money to spend than other GM's. It's just it hasn't been spent very well. The Cubs are on the hook for some seriously awful contracts. It's going to be really hard to retool.
  6. Z's contract isn't that bad. I mean, he's overpaid but I'd rather have him than not have him. The three outfielder contracts are, however, massive albatrosses. I mean, these guys are stuck here. 5 more years of Soriano. Ghastly.
  7. Why? He'd just ignore them. Dude, I don't need numbers to tell me what to do.
  8. Geo seems to be hitting a resurgence lately, which we desperately needed. Fox is hitting really well, but he didn't have much exposure to Perry. Could be coincidence, but I can't quite say we're getting the same results. I want whoever the heck can figure out Soriano since Lou apparently is bent on treating him with a double standard and keeping him in the leadoff spot. He's got to be the worst leadoff man in the league right now. Agreed. Soriano should be hitting 8th.
  9. They're all in A ball or lower. Why not just put Blanco at SS? Isn't that his natural position? Theriot would be fine at second.
  10. Yeah, because the sox are so good. :massive eyeroll
  11. lol, just getting clowned right now. Amazing that even with the DH spot, we can't put together any kind of offense. I look forward to Hendry's plan to fix this. =;
  12. Well who's fault is that Bradley doesn't feel like he has any friends on the team? He's has been bad at the plate and causing distractions with his behavior all season. It's ok to be crazy as long as you're producing (see: Z), and even then you're going to get in trouble. Bradley just seems like he's looking for ways for things to go wrong. I can't wait until the next "oh Cub fans hate black people" article. :massive eyeroll
  13. That's a horrible analogy. Jones didn't have anything like these attitude problems AND hit 27 homers his first year with the Cubs. Really puts everything in perspective, don't it? Does anybody think Bradley will come close to 27 home runs in a season with the Cubs? JFC, I hope he turns it around but Hendry was seriously rockin the bad idea jeans all offseason.
  14. He's gotta be in the lineup every damn day.
  15. Looks like he's dunking him under water. And please, I want to see Fox in the lineup every damn day, please.
  16. Good one! My heart skipped a beat when I read the headline "Geovany Soto test positive for......... .........Oh God, this crappy season is about to get worse........ marijuana." Oh. Well that's not so bad.
  17. Co-query. Basically, the only really bad contracts the Cubs have are in the outfield. These guys make about $23 billion between the three of them and we can't count on any kind of consistent production.
  18. In all honesty, bad teams don't put as many guys on base as we do. We just gotta breakthrough and get them in. The fact that we don't makes it all the more frustrating, but as long as we keep getting guys on base every inning, we will win more games than we lose. I completely agree. The base runners are a good sign that we're slowly improving. It's just a matter of driving them in now. We were doing it just fine at home. Now, we have to basically learn to do it on the road. And I just hate playing in unfamiliar parks. Generally not the best place to get going offensively.
  19. Even though Gregg is not horrible, I will never feel comfortable with him on the mound. He just seems hittable.
  20. Any Cubs lineup that doesn't include Aaron Miles is ok with me.
  21. Well according to Jim Hendry, we fans have been against every move that has eventually worked out.
  22. Was that article posted simply to make HR look like a moron? It seems like it should be in the Onion.
