  1. Last year we scored 7, 9 and 1 runs in that park. It's possible to hit there, but its really hard to hit HRs. Unfortunately, this isn't last year's team.
  2. He's awful.
  3. I wish he was Raul Ibanez or Adam Dunn instead.
  4. Will our hitters hit, though? What if Soto was a one year fluke? Fontenot might only be a part-time player. He has looked awful for quite a while now. DLee is already in decline. He'll be better but he's not somebody who scares anyone. What if Aramis takes a long time to come back? What if he's not the same player? Certainly not out of the question with shoulder injuries. Bradley can hit but he has legit injury concerns too. Soriano is the only guy I trust to have a good year at the plate.
  5. Please don't replace a bad manager with a terrible manager. Fine. Let's make a godfather offer to the king of Chicago Baseball. Ozzie Guillen.
  6. I'd like a change to be made in the manager's spot. Panicky, senile, expensive.........blech. I realize it could be worse (Ned Yost comes to mind) but I think Pineilla is overrated as a manager. Fire Lou, moves Brenly into the booth.
  7. This Cubs team is so hateable. Who seriously thought Milton Bradley would solve any problems?
  8. I feel bad for Weeks and many of their fans but I don't feel bad about that announcer who laughed about Aramis getting hurt. That guy can suck it.
  9. Yea makes no sense our best Ph doesnt see the field in a close game like that, yet Freel and Miles do. Lous in game managing leaves so much to be desired. Just to make it even dumber, please give the #1 reason Hoffpauir made the squad in the first place. I was mowing the lawn and only caught portions of the 8th and 9th inning on the radio, but I knew that the pitcher's spot was coming up in the 9th and assumed there was no question that it would be Hoffpauir. The next I heard, Soriano had hit a home run and there was 1 out, so I was certain that Hoffpauir had made an out. After reading this thread, I went back and checked the box score to find that Miles was used instead. That is completely inexcusable to leave the team's best pinch hitter on the bench, especially when Miles was the alternative. Lou treats Hoffpauir as if he is a .220 hitter with power who is only valuable in situations where a home run is required. Me too, I figured Hoff made an out as well. WTF is with some of these decisions?
  10. Freakin' Bobby Scales, man. Awesome. Only good "Michigan" man I can think of. I renamed my fantasy baseball team hey hey Bobby Scales.
  11. That sucks badly. I just want him to return 100%. However long that takes, I'm cool with it.
  12. I'm quite confident that our backups are capable of beating Gaudin. Hell, I generally feel better right now with Hoff and Scales over Lee and Miles anyway.
  13. Especially considering his roller coaster ride to get here the past few weeks. First hes flown to Chicago to learn that hes going back. Then He gets up and does OK for himself. Then in comes Freel, and its apparently the end of the line for him. Then down goes Ramirez and he stays some more. Seriosuly between Scales and Freel, they need to shop Miles. How many organizations has Scales been in, anyway? 4. He spent 6 in the Pads, 1 each with the Phils and Red Sox and then us. Between him and Hoff, it just goes to show that in future off season we need to start trusting our farm system more, at least for role players rather than going out and making pointless aquisitions like Miles and Gathright. Agreed. Paying Miles $4.5 million is ridiculous when you should be able to find that kind of production in your farm system. If a guy like Scales doesn't work out, you can just send them back down and try another one. If Miles doesn't work out, you're stuck paying him.
  14. It elicited a chortle/CHORTLE from me.
  15. The Brewers should hang a banner for the occasion.
  16. I predict Alphonzo leads off with a home run.
  17. Would you rather have Joey? Joey Gaithwright, while being bad at baseball, is healthy enough to compete. This........ 04/06 - 05/09 AB R H 2b 3b HR RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS BABIP P/PA IsoD RBI% Gathright 14 2 3 0 0 0 0 1 6 0.214 0.267 0.214 0.481 0.375 3.80 0.052 0.000 ..... can hardly be called competing !!!! How dare you talk about Babe Gathright like that!! Don't you know he can jump over a car??

  19. Wonderfull. Hopefully this doesn't affect his swing, as ARAM is known to take a powerful cut now and again. This freaking sucks.
  20. I fully expect the Cardinals to compete all season.
