  1. Epic thread is epic. \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  2. All things considered, I think the Cubs are pretty lucky to be 3.5 games out headed into the break. What can we expect in the second half? I know what I want, a healthy Aramis Ramirez.
  3. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Theriot Bradley Lee ARam Soriano Fukudome Baker Hill Although I don't want to give up on kfuk being the answer in the leadoff spot. He has provided a nice SPARK there, too.
  4. Exactly. I honestly don't think the Harden analyzation needs to go any deeper than this. He's hurt, period. And I don't mean velocity. His pitches are flattening out like pavement. Yeah, he's either hurt or protecting his arm in an attempt to stay healthy all season and shed his injury-prone label in his contract year. Whatever it is, I hope he can turn it around.
  5. Exactly. Milton, can we have our $30 million back, please?
  6. After the Mark Mulder era, I derived a theory that the pixie dust doesn't work unless it's a crappy player. Picking up guys who are actually useful at baseball like DeRosa won't help. Agreed. If the Cardinals pick up Matt Holiday, I'm fully confident he'll OPS around .700. However, I'm absolutely terrified of them picking up a player like Ryan Church or Johnny Gomes.
  7. Well, after next year it appears we'll have plenty of payroll flexibility. The only true albatrosses as I see it are Soriano and Bradley (Soriano, particularly of course). Is there anything that can be done besides hoping they turn it around? Maybe some AL team would take Bradley as a DH. How about Milton in Fenway? Almost as bad idea jeans as Milton in Wrigley.
  8. Meh on Wainwright. We can definitely get to him.
  9. I don't mean to get all Hawkaroo on everybody, but we haven't been getting good calls today. YOU'RE DAT GUM RIGHT WE'RE PLAYING THIS GAME UNDER PROTEST fixed lol, whoops. For some reason, I was thinking of the scene in a Few Good Men when Jack's character confessed to ordering the code red (edited for TV and teh board, of course).
  10. I don't mean to get all Hawkaroo on everybody, but we haven't been getting good calls today. YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT WE'RE PLAYING THIS GAME UNDER PROTEST
  11. I don't see this affecting the Cubs this year. I think, outside of a really small move, this is the team we'll be going for the rest of the way.
  12. As a long-time basher of kfuk, I'm tickled pink to dine on this delicious crow. I think he's found his home in the leadoff spot. He even wears number 1!
  13. I don't think the knee injury had anything to do with his falling off a cliff. His 2004 was an above average season. He just lost it, and I don't think we had the coaching at the big league level that was capable of bringing him out of it. From there he got hackier and hackier and nobody seemed to care to try and fix him or it was too late at that point to teach the old dog new tricks. Yeah, 24 home runs and 32 stolen bases is pretty solid. He was no leadoff man but a useful player (that season) nonetheless.
  14. Didn't Ludwick have a really good year last year?
  15. It probably deserves its own thread but I really like having Kosuke in the leadoff spot. It really seems to maximize his offensive abilities. I know I've been dogging him but when his approach is right, he's pretty good.
  16. If that's the choice, it should be an easy one.
  17. How about we spend that money on a big mothertrucking bat? That's what I'd do.
  18. I thought so. It looked like a good pitch to hit.
  19. Makes sense. Either produce of make way for someone else.
  20. Is this real? I think hes speculating, but you never know. Seeing how he misspelled Soriano and Fukudome, I wouldn't put a lot of stock into it. hee hee.....I kind of like FUKOdome.
  21. Staying on the ball better. and lol at your username Yea i dont really hate pujols. Matter of fact my stance in high school mocked his. When i was creating my user name he hit one out so i just typed what i was feeling at the time. Damn, we should have scored there. It's all good. I don't hate Pujols either (in fact, I think I'll like him quite a bit when he becomes a Cub in 2011). I just enjoyed its bluntness. /Geo, what? Blunt??

  23. Please, we're going to put Z on waivers and he'll be gone before then. Trashsel will be making the start instead.
