  1. Or the Cardinals will sign him, Dave Duncan will work his magic, and the D-Train will be back on track.
  2. Thanks for adding in the details; I forgot to include the game times.
  3. The Los Angeles Times says he is probably out for the season.

  6. The right move would be to do something with Grabow (ideally release him but more likely put him on the DL with a phantom injury). The likely move, I feel, is to send Russell down. He certainly doesn't deserve it, especially after 4 scoreless innings after Wells' mess, but he has options and I doubt the Cubs want 4 left-handed relievers. This is assuming no trade is made.
  7. I've read now that it's actually his ankle that he broke, and he'll undergo surgery and could be out the rest of the year.
  8. Two perfectos already less than two months into the season.
  9. Yes, he can turn things around and be useful. Unless he falls apart in June he'll be an All-Star.
  10. Miggy is my highest scoring hitter of the week despite not playing until yesterday due to the birth of his child. Three HRs in one game can make up for missing a few games.
  11. Whew. Good to hear. I have bad those; they are scary and very painful. Freudian slip?
  12. Grablow shouldn't be deferring his contract. He should be forfeiting it.
  13. I'm fine with trading Gorz, but the 8th inning stuff is getting to be parody. Exactly. Marshall has the 8th inning covered. It's the 6th and 7th innings where the Cubs need help.
  14. Looks like Wells gave an unexpected answer to this question.
  15. Except that's not what he said. True, but I still think it makes Lou look like a fool if he can't remember the word "appendix."
  16. Except Zambrano won't be leaving a vacancy in the first place (unless there's a trade between now and then). Whoever loses his rotation spot to Zambrano will slide into the bullpen slot. So if Cashner is called up it would be to replace somebody else, not Zambrano.
  17. Beat to it by one minute. I can lock my own thread just like I lock others.
  18. The reason Jeff Baker was removed from today's game is that he lost vision in his right eye. He was examined by an eye specialist, and more is expected to be known tomorrow.
  19. It could be a moot point. Zambrano was hospitalized today with abdominal pain. It was first thought it might be appendicitis, but tests came up negative.
  20. Once upon a time the Seahawks actually were an AFC team. :D
  21. He's collecting a salary. He'd probably resign if he'd still be paid. I wouldn't be surprised if he really wants to be fired so he'd still get paid for the remainder of his contract.
