  1. Yes. I'm heading off to work now, but I'll send you a PM with the information when I get back later this afternoon.
  2. Fox is back with the Orioles. He was called up when Pie was DFA'd.
  3. Tennessee's sanctions announced today. 3-year show cause penalty for Pearl, 1 year for his assistants, and 2 years probation for the program.
  4. Yikes; I just checked and saw that you're right. Somebody apparently pulled out, because it was previously shown as 12 teams and now it shows 11. Anybody interested please post your interest here and I'll send a PM with the information. If three more people are interested I can increase the limit to 14 teams (which I think is the ideal for fantasy football anyway, because the schedule can be set for everybody to play everybody else one time). The draft is tentatively set for next Monday (9:00 P.M. Eastern time) but could be moved back.
  5. Not his decade or century, but his year.
  6. Yep; last I read it could make landfall anywhere from Florida to North Carolina, then track up the East coast. I haven't paid that much attention to the schedule, but places like Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston could be affected. ETA: Depending on where it does make landfall Florida and Atlanta could be affected as well.
  7. Negrin's player page shows that he is 27 years old and this is his first year in the minors? He's from Cuba. He just signed earlier this month. http://www.chicagonow.com/cubs-den/2011/08/cubs-sign-top-cuban-pitching-prospect-yoanner-negrin/
  8. I forgot about Bosworth and Carter; Kosar is who I remember. He didn't want to be drafted by the team who had the top pick in the regular draft, and he was going to be eligible to graduate despite having one year of eligibility remaining. So he didn't declare early, then when he graduated applied for the supplemental draft. Dave Brown, who was the Giants QB for several years in the 90's, was a supp pick out of Duke. I remember him but didn't realize he was a supplemental draft pick.
  9. I just tried and had no trouble accessing it.
  10. Good stuff. Hopefully it's for starts.
  11. According to cubs.com he is expected to make rehab appearances for both Tennessee and Iowa. If all goes well he could return to the Cubs on Sept. 2.
  12. Maybe Bob was intentionally getting an extra start to ensure a loss with the penalty. With Chuck beating me this week, a loss for Bob wraps up the #1 pick in the prospect draft (he'd be two games "ahead" with only one week remaining with the shortened schedule).
  13. So you actually got some value from Matusz after trading him.
  14. You're probably thinking of Luis Salazar, who was with the Padres in 84 and was acquired by the Cubs (along with Marvell Wynne) in a post-deadline waiver deal in 89. I think he's really thinking of Ron Cey who came from the Dodgers, rather than the Padres. Could be; I could be thinking backwards on which team he meant by "their" 84 team.
  15. You're probably thinking of Luis Salazar, who was with the Padres in 84 and was acquired by the Cubs (along with Marvell Wynne) in a post-deadline waiver deal in 89. Today, he's more well known for losing an eye to a foul ball as a coach for The Braves. Yep; I remember that from Spring Training this year. He's actually a Braves' minor league manager, not a coach. [/nitpick]

  17. Make that 2-0.
  18. That's not the issue. The issue is whether games he DOESN'T play while not signed can count toward the suspension.
  19. Apparently the reason that he was released was he hurt his shoulder. He only pitched 7 games in the minors.
  20. That would definitely be an improvement.
  21. My memory is fuzzy on this, but can we substitute for suspended players mid-week ? I would think so, since you can substitute for injured players. It seems to me to be the same principle, substituting for a player who is unable to play.
  22. Somehow I stumbled onto this information, but Silva was released by the Yankees on July 2 and apparently has not been signed by another team yet.
  23. They should pick it up. He and Russell have come on this year and are becoming key parts of the bullpen.
