  1. Bad, yes. Devastating, no. It's not like Soriano has been the primary reason for the Cubs' recent surge. The other players just need to step it up a notch, and Lou needs to make the right moves by playing Pie or Muron (preferably both) rather than Pagan.
  2. Too bad I can't trade you the points from Glavine's start tonight for points from a start to be named later.
  3. Bloody @#$@@!! Sox. Now it isn't possible for us to make a deal for him. lol. banedom just said in the game thread that censored swearing is against the forum's policies ;) That is true. The reference is more towards something like sh$t, but I can see where you might think the line is fuzzy. gah!! my precious innocence again!! just messin with you ;) (even though this wasn't banedom's understanding of the rule when he warned a poster) Who's this banedom that you've mentioned in two posts? :D
  4. On the ESPN telecast they said Carlos Lee was leading off the next inning for the Cubs. Web site or television station, this isn't their most shining night.
  5. Clement was never really very good before the Cubs got him. He was considered an underachiever with more talent than he was showing. He was very good for the Cubs in 2003 and part of 2004 and has been hampered by injuries since then.
  6. That'd be cool, I want too see premium but I want to make sure i'm gettign something good for my money. The point of Premium isn't to get perks with a value equal to your investment. The point of Premium is to support the site, which Tim otherwise has to pay out of his own pocket. The features ou get are really intended to be a small token of appreciation, much like the gifts for supporting PBS during their pledge drives.like I said, I just don't have any money right now. look I really want to support Tim but I can't right now. I'm 15! I don't have alot of money. I'm not criticizing you for that; that's why Premium is optional in the first place (as opposed to this being a strictly pay site). I'm simply commenting on your post, which seemed like you saying your motivation for buying Premium would be based on how much you value the additional features.

  8. I know the feeling; that happened to me back in week 2.
  9. In other words, he had a rocky outing. :D
  10. The happiest negative pitching performance I've had: Cordero giving up 3 in the 11th to lose to the Phillies. \:D/
  11. Be upset, yes. Give up, no. I'm a fan of the TEAM first and foremost.
  12. I've contacted my hosting company and I'm doing the switch at 9am, instead. I noticed that right after I posted. I think Sunday morning is one of the least busy times here anyway.
  13. Right in the middle of the Cubs-Mets game, probably. Perhaps a reminder about the emergency board is in order. It's http://s8.invisionfree.com/emergencynsbb/index.php?act=idx.
  14. during the broadcast of that game, they said he had been slated to start Thursday I believe. So he may go back to starting. Checked the news and he won't be starting. Word from the manager was that he was never slated to start Thursday. He pitched in relief again today against the Cubs.
  15. Apparently Kroeger is out for the year. That was mentioned in another thread. Are you sure??? California Raisin was just speculating when he said this in the AAA injury thread: I remember Raisin's post, but that's not the one I'm thinking of. The one I'm thinking of is newer, from today. Without search I can't find it, though. I'm thinking that post mentioned it as fact rather than speculation, but I'm not positive. We'll know one way or the other soon enough.
  16. I was at today's game, and I was disappointed that he wasn't used. He could have been used when Lilly was taken out; a 4-run lead would be a good time for his return, since there wouldn't be much pressure. He hasn't pitched sinc Tuesday, so it's not like he'd be tired. If he wasn't read to go on Friday he shouldn't have been activated then.
  17. Apparently Kroeger is out for the year. That was mentioned in another thread.
  18. So LaRussa batting Miles in the pitchers' position turned out to be prophetic.
  19. Hoffpauir is definitely out for the year. That was mentioned a week or so ago in the minor league forum.
  20. This is a blow to the Braves' Wild Card chances, which in turn increases the Cubs' chances if they don't win the division. I can't say I'm unhappy about this. :D
  21. A nice blow to the Braves' Wild Card hopes, which could help the Cubs if Milwaukee wins the division.
  22. He's injured and out for the year, but he's still with the organization. He's on the 60-day DL.
  23. He's actually registered here. He's posted a few times and done a few Q & A sessions in the past. What's his username? lenkasper? I think he is a member at a few Cubs blogs and forums. You got to love a broadcaster that fits in time to interact with the fans. lenkaspercubstv is his user name. Hmmm, it shows he has never been on nor has he posted. You may be looking at his profile on Premium (I'm not sure if you have Premium or not). On Premium profiles don't always show the member's join date or number of posts (it depends on how the member sets up the profile). The profile on the non-premium interface does show that information. There are many, many posters here who could verify that he has posted.
  24. You'd probably only have yourself to moderate. :D
  25. No you're not. I remember him being with the Cubs twice.
