Jets are a possible win, especially if Fields suits up. An offense our D can actually hang with cuz Wilson is terrible. And there's a slight chance the Vikings are in rest mode week 18. 5 wins wouldn't shock me. They've been in most games this year. Unfortunately they're gonna lose almost every tie breaker for draff positioning, so even if you want to look at the bright side of draft positing it's still basically guaranteed to be worst case scenario. no way the Bears beat the Jets if they cant beat Detroit, Atlanta. And MN in rest mode would be a even test for this Bears team, and its in MN - so thats also a likely loss

Looking at the rest of the schedule, the Bears very well could end up with 3-4 wins. GB Det Look like the only two possible wins and neither is a given

I had a grade 3 separated shoulder when I was about 28, flipped my mountain bike on a trail. I lost about 20-25% of the strength in that shoulder, never really gained it back. It hurt like hell, worst injury I'd ever had and I've been hit by a car too. JF is younger then I was, and hopefully if it is a separate shoulder, it's a grade 1 or 2. Those heal a lot faster and I don't think he'd lose much strength. Just for ref, my clavicle almost popped through my skin. It was horsefeathering narly

The Super Bowl last year nearly swung on what could either have been a face mask or an offensive PI on the Higgins TD to start the second half. It would be tricky but I wouldn’t be opposed to the officials reviewing all scoring plays and turnovers to make sure no obvious penalties directly led to the score/TD, like the two examples above. So I’m not talking about a hold by the OL. It would be tough to implement but I think they could look into it. TD are more common than goals in soccer but not by much. This isn’t basketball. Makes me wonder what a game would look like with no penalties in the rulebook. All running game, no ability to pass? Teams full of 260# linebackers beating the hell out of each other. How would the offensive and defensive strategies game out?

i get the feeling he's one of those people that won't like any running whatsoever from the quarterback. i think he dislikes lamar as well. QB who couldn't run, hates QB who can. Ironical. I obviously disagree. Fields is taking fewer hits now than he was earlier in the year when he was just sitting in the pocket. His big hits he's taken are from throwing down the field. He's not getting hit much when he scrambles or design runs, because he's getting out of bounds or sliding, or just going 60+ yards and scoring a damn TD. Lamar has been pretty healthy, running around 17 games per year. He missed time last year because of a hamstring, not from bumps and bruises, and he's a smaller player. And yeah, this isn't the end game for Justin Fields. This is just something he can do. And something he needs to do right now out of necessity. And honestly, it's not really been excessive. He has 104 carries this year and only 1/2 the games are even over 8 rushes, none more than 15 carries (includes kneel downs). It's not like he's running 20x per game like a tailback. For comparison, Josh Allen has 3 games over 8 carries and he has a prolific passing offense. yea, I dont see Justin Fields being asked to carry the team forever. I see this more like a step in the teams overall development. The more the Bears can establish JF as a real scoring threat all on his own, the more it will help the rest of the offense when the do develop a WR and line

My untrained eye says he's been much better than average run blocking. He's not a good pass blocker right now, but he's not a disaster either. I don' think he's had any game as bad as Borom looked against Judon (or Week 18 last year vs Minnesota). But he seems to really struggle when everyone knows the Bears have to pass. He's helped out by play action and RPOs and TEs chipping, but when the Bears are behind DEs can tee off on him, especially if they have a spy or the other end containing Fields. I guess my point is has he really been (relatively) better position wise then Fields? Fields is setting records and pff is like "meh..average"

also, has Braxton Jones really played that well? I really didnt think he had but PFF seems to think hes been decent on both run and pass blocking

your qb is a world beater and pff gives him a 67 grade......are we sure these are accurate?

yea, I said it several weeks ago in a game thread but Fields is like having Barry Sanders, QB. Really would love to see him build on his passing game, tho. I know there are questions at OL and WR, but I want him to continue to hit wr's in the hands, pick apart a zone D, etc

I mean, it's hard to be happy with Claypool right now but the Ds play has to be worse. They are an absolute sieve. They need a pass rush so horsefeathering bad. And linebackers. And probably a corner at minimum

Hard to run a two minute passing drill when your receivers get knocked down on their routes with no call. Not to mention running for your life immediately after the snap. With a doubt, had it been the Lions on offense that call is made. thats such a weird thing to think about...the Lions being the darlings of the NFL refs?
