  1. that last paragraph has me entirely confused, they love Anderson but would trade back for the possibility of 2-3 qb's? Do they have 2 1st round picks? noted on the Texans being racists. I mean, when has that not been true for all Texans (save old style) ETA: I would also be very sad if Lovie didnt get another year...or 8 Yeah, I was mostly rambling. But my thinking is they feel Anderson is unequivocally the best player in the draft. They do have 2 1sts (Browns pick for Watson). If they take a QB 1, they won't get Anderson. If they take Anderson 1, they may be able to get 1 of the top 3 QBs by trading back up. And a trade up for a QB is much more justifiable than a trade up for a DE. Ah, I get it
  2. we arent, that's why some of us really want Anderson/Carter if we get pick #2. They very well may not drop, in fact lovie at #1 may likely end up taking one of Anderson/Carter I believe Lovie may not even have a job next year. They fired their coach last year that had a similar 1-win roster that Lovie has this year, but led them to 4 wins. Plus, the Texans are notoriously racist and only hired Lovie because they would have looked bad hiring a white guy after firing their previous black coach in 1 year after he overachieved. And it was the same time as the Brian Flores stuff was going on, so I'm convinced they hired Lovie (which was out of nowhere) because they were supposedly down to 2 candidates (Flores and a white guy, can't remember which one) and didn't want to pick the white one while Flores was suing the league for being racist. It's also possible the Texans fall in love with Anderson at 1 and are willing to use their other 1st round pick (from the Browns) to trade up for whichever QB falls past 2-3. If Kiper is right and some teams like Levis as QB1, then they could potentially move back for one of the guys that most consider the top 2 QBs. that last paragraph has me entirely confused, they love Anderson but would trade back for the possibility of 2-3 qb's? 4. seems about as middle of the road as you can get, easy teams at home and hard teams away
  5. I am firmly in team trade down just because I think having more spins at the wheel is your best chance at some semblance of certainty when acquiring talent, but if I were drafting there and he's available (and were taking defense), I'd rather have Carter. Just seems interior guys like that are harder to find than good edge guys and would make a huge impact on this defense. Nothing like a guy who can wreck shop and generate pressure from the interior. Fully willing to admit that I don't follow college whatsoever, though, so all I know is what I've seen on Twitter and draft scouting reports. I wouldn't say no to or be disappointed with Carter, but if Anderson can be a Micah Parsons I feel like he's still the better bet to transform the D

It's a toss up on who's the better prospect, though I do think Carter is more unique because like you said, there are more impact edge guys out there than impact DTs. I think Bears' fans attachment to Anderson is in part due to the fact that I think it's a pretty safe assumption that the Bears will add a DT in free agency. They tried to pay big money for Ogunjobi last year, when they had no money. Now they have a ton of cap and a loaded DT class. yes, and in fact we can blame you for bringing up Payne. Now if we dont sign him I'll be disappointed. thanks raw thanks a lot
  7. I forget how much money they have. Sure, both. Same time. Payne too while he's at it. Get 3 horsefeathering red phones and dial them all at once. Better get him some interns to work their fingers on the rotary dial!
  8. I'd rather they focus their attention on the interior O-line Competency at C would have a big positive impact on the whole line. Sure, I'm being a homer but he is the best C in the draft and would be awesome for the Bears to use that late 2nd on: https://draftscout.com/dsprofile.php?PlayerId=1023228&DraftYear=2023
  9. I'd rather they focus their attention on the interior O-line Why not both Sure. But interior first
  10. I'm okay if he, Borom, and Leatherwood are the 2-4 tackle spots (plus Borom and Leatherwood can also prob bump inside as backups). I want them to sign a legit veteran tackle (Right or Left side doesn't matter IMO) I'd rather they focus their attention on the interior O-line
  11. what is the penalty for the Bears if Poles doesnt hit the salary floor?
  12. Yea, sharing time with Reiff doesn't show too much but heres to it hopefully being something. Also, I'm in on Sanborn. he's been playing as well as Roquan was, besides the D's needs are on the D-line anyway.
  13. can you post a screen shot of them, O and D? or is that UM's territory?
  14. Bears arent going to win another game. Even if minny is on auto-pilot that last week, no way the bears win
  15. Especially since the gophers are so good at it
  16. for the Vikings to get the #1, yes, but if they are 14-2 heading into that last week and so is Philly, the Vikings arent going to sit anyone meaning the bears could lose that game - which is what we are worried wont happen. eta: it also depends on the flex scheduling, those games are TBD right now.
  17. there is an alternate reality where the Iggles lose another game (somehow) and suddenly that last week the Vikings are fighting for 1st pace. I dont think its a far fetched idea either, they play the Giants twice and the Cowboys once still with two of those games being away. That's if Minny doesn't drop one too. They're a .500 team masquerading as a two seed. If they really horsefeathers down their leg, maybe they're still fighting for the two seed. absolutely
  18. ......so, Skol Vikings! (?) I feel dirty
  19. To date, they've underperformed their expected W-L by a game or two. Luckily (or not) this team is now dramatically different than even a week ago. But Fields may be enough to play them into stealing a win they have no business in and reverting to the mean. And that likely meaniningless Minny game week 18 scares me the most. there is an alternate reality where the Iggles lose another game (somehow) and suddenly that last week the Vikings are fighting for 1st pace. I dont think its a far fetched idea either, Philly will play the Giants twice and the Cowboys once with two of those games being away.
  20. I'd be happy if they instituted a 3-5 drop back passing attack and threw 50 times. practice the short passes, keep the DL at bay, and if you win you win.
  21. man, heres to Fields passing the Bears to a win and somehow someway the O-line keeping him unscathed horsefeathers the packers
  22. horsefeathers! I'm gonna blame autocorrect on that one. If the Bears end up at #2 and the Lions at #3 and #13 would they be willing to trade up one spot to be assured of either Young or Stroud? That would be ideal for the Bears, take Anderson at #3 and OL or WR at #13. This upcoming draft and free agency have a chance to be a real game changer for the Bears. It's a chance to build the foundation for a playoff contender 2024 and beyond, for the Bears the 2023 offseason is shaping up to be their most important and impactful this century. No pressure Ryan Poles. right, but it wont be Ryan Pace (look at SS's post)
