  1. highly doubt that I just think they are talking big about being in the QB market, but they don't have the guns to compete and that realty will lead them back to where they started.
  2. Nah, they will very likely resign Trubisky
  3. trade up in the draft for mack jones, that's what i fear
  4. Holy crap! Nice story. Ricky was an interesting dude. He's me idol, Byron Bay is legendary
  5. so, with news reports that Arob wants $25 million yr/ave and the franchise likely closer to $18 million, what would the trade market look like for him on a tag and trade deal?
  6. Idk if that trade scenario was a matter of Houston not thinking Tua is that good or more of a way to get Houston (3) first-rounders for Watson. Eh. I'd assume they'd want to use one of those 3 on a QB. Unless it's the 3rd overall fromMIA, they are using for a QB, it kind of makes the point they'd rather role the dice on another QB. But either way, it kind of shows that his value is tamper down. And I could imagine not many teams parting with a 1st for Tua, either because that 1st is too high or they'd prefer a more known quantity to their QB search (although arguably so will the Bears). I mean, sure Houston might think that way but the guy who dreamed up the trade scenario was prolly just thinking 3 firsts for Watson. I don't disagree with what you're saying otherwise, however, I would take Tua for our 20th and a 4th. He's probably worth it and especially worth more than Mac Jones imo.
  7. I wouldn't be pissed about 1st and 4th for Tua, quibbling over the 4th aside. But if the Bears are inserted into this hypothetical it's because Houston doesn't value him. So it helps to not be competing against Houston and against the likely smaller subsey of teams who might be interested in Tua. The Lance question is of course a question of potential verse floor. As raw said, no doubt he has a higher ceiling with his tools. But even if it was a question of 20th and 4th for Tua, you could weigh Tua vs Mac Jones and probably make a case for the latter. Idk if that trade scenario was a matter of Houston not thinking Tua is that good or more of a way to get Houston (3) first-rounders for Watson.
  8. I changed my mind. But I've never been a big Tua fan and LOVE Lance who I think has MVP upside. Exactly how I feel. I wouldn't cry over Tua tho
  9. LOL. Why the hell would the Bears send a 1st and 4th and potentially more for Tua? no kidding. might as well pull the Rams, Jets, Tennessee into the trade as well if we're just going to make crazy happen
  10. That's a steep price with such a cost you've got to be certain you're getting back a franchise QB not merely a good QB. It's all academic anyway, a Jimmy G, Marcus Mariottta, Tyrod Talyor type is who the Bears will end up with. Watson is a franchise QB, and young. But when you think about it, Pace will have ultimately drafted him with 4 1st rd pics with that trade. Pace is a horsefeathering idiot
  11. I'm far from a QB expert as it relates to a college player transitioning to the pros, but Lance is the qb I would like the Bears to draft. I HATE HATE HATE NDSU, but in his case I could get over it if we drafted him really fast.
  12. I really want Bateman if we don't trade the pick
  13. Lance is extremely risky to me. Picking him over Fields seems insane. I know Lance has played far fewer games than Mahomes and Allen but I thought the same thing about those two and look how they turned out. I guess if you actually have a good coaching staff and system, it matters a lot less. (For the record, I agree with you.) I mean, I begrudgingly hold the fact he played for NDSU against him but whatevs
  14. I have no interest in working today, so I thought I peruse moc drafts 1-4 all QBs, Bears take Bateman Bears take Mayfield OT, miss Trey by one pick this Mayfield guy pops up again Bateman, again Olave because Robinson leaves - I guess Toney....yaaawn Slater, T so, consensus is its either WR or OT
  15. sure, but there were also the highlights of him hitting guys in stride down the sidelines against Fuller. Not to mention, anytime the practice D got the better of a rookie/2nd year quarterback it just fell back to "wow, the Bears have an AWESOME D!" and they did in 2018 Just for the hell of it I looked at some pre-draft scouting reports of Mitch and it's all there - strong arm but, struggles with downfield accuracy, questionable footwork, trouble recognizing disguised overages, good scrambler - once again just what the hell was so special that Pace HAD to draft him? all three had questions, Watson's arm strength was questionable, Mahomes was a "project". idk. The only real damning issue with Trubisky was his lack of experience which was 1-year starting, and against weaker comp iirc. But then again, Mahomes hadn't really played anyone either at that point.
  16. thats interesting Weren't there whispers of the defense abusing Mitch in practice? That is doing things like showing one look but, go another on the snap, etc. confusing the hell out of him? sure, but there were also the highlights of him hitting guys in stride down the sidelines against Fuller. Not to mention, anytime the practice D got the better of a rookie/2nd year quarterback it just fell back to "wow, the Bears have an AWESOME D!" and they did in 2018
  17. really? I don't remember that (not before and during 2018 anyway) It wasn't a publicly discussed issue, it was a person in the organization who speaks to a friend of mine. Back when I thought Mitch had a chance to live up to the draft pick, he told me not to get my hopes up. thats interesting
  18. this is dumb because while Mitch turned out not to be the answer, Nagy knew who he was when he took the job and at the time glowingly talked about him. Nagy was brought in to develop Mitch, not install his offense. Somehow, that has reversed. Nagy shares responsibility in the mess FWIW I know that the offensive coaches had relatively low opinions of Mitch very early on, it was why I've thought all along that Nagy would survive a Mitch collapse. I am assuming they were honest with Pace about what they (and the rest of the league) thinks about Mitch and felt they'd have an opportunity to help pick the next guy. really? I don't remember that (not before and during 2018 anyway)

  20. horsefeathers it . lets go deep I'm cool with going deep. My biggest worry is that Ryan Pace is going to pay going deep prices for someone who is decidedly not deep, like Matt Stafford. totally possible on the other hand, maybe he's learned his lesson
