  1. A large majority of the time but there are the cases like Brees, Peyton and Brady.
  2. Last year was his best year and he had 35+ attempts in 10 of 16 games and over 30 in 13.
  3. Absolutely. He could learn but its not like he is a first year starter. He's been starting for three seasons now. I think eventually he will learn that taking a sack is better sometimes. He also doesn't seem to open to be criticized. I hope he works out because I'm more of a fan of his than not.
  4. http://www.totalprosports.com/blog/index.php/2009/11/soccer-taunt-backfires-on-goalie-video/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+totalprosports%2Fkonm+%28Total+Pro+Sports%29 This made me laugh when I saw this on PTI today. Wait for the third penalty kick.
  5. Just got back from covering a game so I didn't get to watch Purdue but looking at the box score there are a couple things worth mentioning. First and foremost Keaton Grant didn't start (according to box score) with Lewis Jackson suspended. Freshman forward Kelsey Barlow did. I'm almost certain this is the first time under Painter that 3 F's started. Then there's the freshman. D.J. Byrd looks like the next Teague with his shooting only threes and likely very streaky shooting. Patrick Bade (JJ's backup in high school) had 9 rebounds off the bench.
  6. LeBron himself on multiple occasions said his goal at this point of his career is to continue to develop his world brand. That's where all the rumors of him going overseas started. It's a lot easier to do when you have a number that when people see it they think of you and not someone more recognizable than you.
  7. That's dumb. Heh to each their own. I dont care if anyone wears 23 around the league, but it wouldnt be the 1st time the league has retired a certain number. I think this is also a way for Lebron to change to his favorite number, which hes hinted hes wanted to for awhile now. I think its probably more about his desire to become popular around the world. Market is world brand. Harder to do when you wear a number that makes everyone think of Jordan. He can switch to any other number and that number will be come his number. No matter what he goes on to do in the NBA 23 would never be considered his.
  8. No that has yet to be done.
  9. You call giving up 104 yards on 25 carries including a touchdown to Frank Gore stopping the run?
  10. I'll still take Peterson, but Johnson has really closed the gap this season and its very very close. Peterson can more consistently get yardage, but CJ will have more breakout runs. I think Peterson is still better, but CJ is well up there. I've been talking about this with my brother for the last couple weeks (Titans fan) and we both agree its Peterson. CJ leads the league in runs for a loss. Peterson is as powerful as any RB and as fast as any RB except CJ. With Peterson you get few runs for a loss and you still get the breakout plays. Peterson is tied with Gore for the most runs of 60+ yards since 2006. All that said CJ is 2-5 in the RB rankings. I can see arguments for CJ, Stephen Jackson (my pick for 2), MJD and DeAngelo Williams. My top five would be 1. Peterson 2. Jackson 3. CJ 4. DeAngelo 5. MJD I cannot believe Gore isn't in your top five. I think Gore is as much or more talent than every RB in the league minus Peterson. However until he proves it I'm going to go with the ones who are proving it. Gore does have speed, cuts, blocking and catching but he only has one season of 1200+ yards and no seasons of 10+ TD's.
  11. Long overdue. No team with Chris Paul should be losing let alone one that has Peja, West and Okafor too. They aren't a great team but much better than they have been playing.
  12. The GB game I'll give you, but how the [expletive] does Orton win this game? Orton could have led a TD drive. Just one. The SF defense is nothing to writehome about, at least not tonight. I actually will agree with this. SF was saved by bad throws. They gave up a lot of yards. The 49ers offense was awful. If there weren't the turnovers the Bears probably score more than 10 points. Orton would take the sack rather than force the throw. Sometimes that is worse than trying to make something happen but in this game where the 49ers did nothing with the ball it would have been better.
  13. Yeah because this entire season is Cutler's fault. I don't think that was what he was saying.
  14. This is a message board and I can't state my opinion? Sure you can. However, when you show up just after a frustrating loss saying anything and everything in a way that will obviously piss people off you should expect to be called a troll.

  16. FWIW this the the first 49ers win since Crabtree signed.
  17. huh? You take away Peterson and their lines and Minnesota sucks. That is what makes them good. Plus taking away any good player (let alone Peterson) and the talent gap can't be the same because by definition the team losing the player isn't as good. This is the first Bears game thread I've posted more than once or twice in and you have been here all of 10 minutes but I already want you to go away.
  18. I was one of the bigger Benson defenders on here when he was on the Bears. I said it then, I'll say it now. Get Forte a line and we'll see how he does. He is definitely the type of RB who does very well after he gets through the line and is in the open field but struggles if there isn't much of a hole (Addai is another). Some guys are good at waiting for a hole or creating there own but they are rare. LT used to be one in his early days with SD. I would say Gore is one because the 49er o-line is pretty crappy. It's a matter of the wrong type of RB for the team. Chris Johnson would be a better fit. That is not to say they would dominate with Chicago. No RB could. But I think they would be able to get 4 yards a carry. Forte is a good RB but not in a good situation.
  19. Pretty much. Didn't they have a TO left? He could have dove to the ground, taken the sack and still had another play.
  20. through not threw. journalist? typing with 13 seconds left in a game so sorry
  21. That our offense can't score even though we have a good RB, TE and decent WR's. We should be doing a lot better but Jimmy Raye is not a good OC.
  22. I may need a new computer after this game is over. This one could be going threw the TV.
  23. niners are going to blow a win for the fourth time this season
  24. Might have seen the end of Michael Lewis' career if that is a head injury. Had like 4 concussions this season and 7 in the last two seasons (not 100% sure on numbers).
