  1. Is that you guys posting or did you let your one of your kids get on and post. You guys really are some of the best. I try to start a conversation and you guys make 3-4 posts that derail everything. Seems to happening a lot with my posts. Maybe you guys could stop trolling my posts and derailing threads or at least when you do it be creative. Oh and SSR I got a serious question for you. Are you this much of a jerk in real life or are you one of those guys that needs to constantly make fun of people on the internet to make his pee-pee feel bigger?
  2. Ohio State is top 5 if Turner comes back. They are No. 1 if he comes back but he's not.
  3. Obviously these will change based on tourney performances but any predictions on what teams in the Big Ten will be ranked next season? I have ... Purdue (assuming the big three stay) - Top 5-10 Michigan State (assuming Lucas stays) - Top 5-10 Ohio State - Top 15-20 Illinois (assuming McCamey stays)- Top 15-20 Wisconsin and Minnesota I think both get some votes and perhaps Northwestern
  4. Soto 8th? I was hoping he would move to sixth. I want Sori and Soto 6th and 7th. Don't really care about the order of those two but those two should bat in those spots.
  5. So I just found out my mother has a fancy projector from here school that she gets to keep at all times. This means I can hook it up and project whatever game I want to see most. Awesome.
  6. It would seem our South is nearly identical. I have Duke making Final Four and Richmond in Sweet Sixteen. I may still switch and put Baylor is Final Four though.
  7. I have Richmond and UTEP. EDIT: And Xavier. I have Richmond as well. I have Xavier getting beat in round 1 though.
  8. This quote is a huge steaming pile of dog [expletive]. "They had some situations where they lost to some teams below 100 on the RPI"...Minnesota losses vs teams below 100 on RPI=4 with a loss to #99 also. Illinois losses vs teams below 100=3 and NONE since December unlike Minny who has 3 of theirs in 2010 and 1 of those coming in March. Record vs teams in top 100 Minny 7-9 Illinois 6-10 wow big difference. Better overall SOS than Minny also. Like I said that quote is a huge steaming pile of dog [expletive] 1. Illinois had four losses, not three, to teams below 100 on RPI 2. Minnesota beat Illinois at Illinois 3. Both teams had top 50 SOS so let's not act like Minnesota played a weak schedule.
  9. 75 RPI, 14 losses. No, not really. Not even close matter of fact. As stated many times in this thread, RPI is garbage. And we had far more quality wins than anyone else on the bubble. Lots of wins against garbage competition doesn't mean much. I can't believe someone is arguing against this. Sure Illinois had some big wins. They also had a lot of losses. You can say RPI is garbage all you want (all of sudden RPI is garbage to Illinois fans) but it is a pretty credible ranking. It's not the end all, be all but it holds some weight. How about Pomeroy? Illinois is a whopping 52nd on there (Utah St. is 20). We can also go to Saragin where Illinois is 59th (Utah St. is 40th). Illinois had some big wins but that doesn't get you in the tourney. Illinois had 14 freaking losses, lost six of their last eight and aren't high on any rankings whether it be the polls, RPI, Pomeroy or Saragin so face it already. They were also the first team left out, so they did something right. They had so many more good wins than the other bubble teams, it wasn't close. They lost 6 of their last 8, 5 of which were to the RPI top 25. They scheduled better non-conference than any other bubble team, and finished in the top half of a top tier conference, and played all the top teams twice. So, before you post your ignorant nonsense yet again, at least take a look at some things. You might want to look up ignorant in the dictionary. I know all of that. The fact is they lost a lot of games, were below .500 against the RPI top 100 and don't rate/rank high on anyone's ratings/rankings. If they were in the field it wouldn't be a big deal as they showed the capability to play very well but their not being in the field isn't a snub. They played extremely inconsistently which made them a team that is right on the border where either way they fall is OK.
  10. I assume that is sarcasm.
  11. From ESPN blog entry.
  12. The tournament committee doesn't look at any rankings or ratings. I've read they do it from scratch to the best of their ability.

  14. I have the same title game and champ.
  15. They return their other four starters, plus they add the number one recruit and recruiting class in the country. Something tells me OSU will still ball pretty hard. D Mac will be back. Oh I have no doubt OSu will be good but I don't think they will be top 5-10. My guess is top 20 and are somewhat inconsistent with streaks of greatness. It was expected this year but I will say the Big Ten should be really good next year. A lot of the teams return almost everyone.
  16. I picked more upsets this year than normal. Don't know why but I just don't like the favored teams match as much. My first round upsets in non-8/9 games are Georgia Tech, Minnesota, Utah St. and Missouri. My other upsets are Tennessee beating Georgetown, Richmond beating Villanova, two of the 5 seeds beating 4's and Pitt making Final Four. My Final Four as of now are Kansas vs. Pitt and Kentucky vs. Duke. I may however switch Baylor into the Final Four over Duke.
  17. Could be wrong by OSU won't be nearly as good without Turner. Also has DMac said he coming back? If he hasn't I think there is a decent chance he goes into the draft.
  18. Enjoy the end of your "dream" season. Way to be a [expletive]. Typical Illinois fan. Oh I didn't get my way so I'm going to take the low road. EDIt: I will enjoy my dream season. Next year when all but Kramer and Grant are back.
  19. Also Illinois had 4 losses to RPI 100+ while Utah State only had 2. In addition to that both lost to Utah. Illinois lost by two on neutral court while Utah State lost by one at Utah. It's pretty obvious that Utah State has the better resume unless you want to get caught up on their only red mark which is they only played one top 25 team.
  20. Come on. They are 20th in Pomeroy ratings and 31 in the RPI. They deserved to be in. They were 10-5 versus the RPI top 100. Illinois was 6-10. Did Utah State play a lot of top 25 teams? No. They did play a decent schedule. They played a lot of good teams but few great teams. Their strength of schedule is 100 which isn't good but not bad either.
  21. Which team's do you think should have been out? And really? You're going to blame the refs?
  22. 6 seed for ND? WTF
  23. Uh oh Andy Louisville is in.
  24. This is reminds me of a conversation I had at lunch during my internship with the Pacers. During lunch a lot of times we talk about trades that would be fun or awesome but will never happen. We thought about how ESPN could run a story that said people inside the Pacers organization are discussing a possible trade to land Insert Name. This Pujols for Howard trade sounds like two production guys talking about at lunch about how they should talk to St. Louis about swapping the players.
  25. lollll so many people lost money on this one I don't know how anyone can bet the NBA regular season. There are too many games that teams just throw away. I don't blame them either. The season is too long. If you had the money to start you could easily make lots of money each season. Don't bet the line but rather just the who will win. If you bet 50 bucks each and every game against the Nets you will have won 59 times and only lost 7. Say you only get 50% return on wins that makes the profit equation (59x$25) - (7x$50). That would be $1,125 profit this season. Obviously the Nets are having one of the worst seasons ever but you could each year wait a month to see who are the worst 2-4 teams and then do this. You would make 3-4 grand a year doing this but you would need the starting capital. Oh and you could do this for each sport, although I wouldn't do it with football (too unpredictable and too few games).
