  1. you win a lawsuit from me for copyright infringement
  2. How long of a contract did he get? If it's only one year, I'm surprised there's no rumor of him being on the hot seat. If I'm Jocketty, I didn't hire him and I don't want him around my kids. He'd be gone already. There would have been four managers canned last week. He may be under instructions to allow him to last the year since they don't have any expectations of competing this year anyways. The Reds have enough pieces in place to be scary in another year or two, so I'd like to see Dusty keep hanging around there in the mean time. dude thats uncalled for. lets keep this about baseball. I believe by "kids" he's referring to the Reds' young players like Bruce, Votto, Cueto, Volquez, and Bailey. woo-woo-woo here is your ticket for not seeing obvious sarcasm. You can pay the fine by giving me your credit card numbers. Have a good day, sir.
  3. Also, a heinous schedule and no conference championship game. If they go to the NC game again this year and get killed, something is going to have to be done about it. I'm all for adding a championship game to the Big Ten, or else adding a +1 format to the BCS. I wish they'd just stop with all the excuses and do it. There shouldn't be a way for a team to simply slide from their conference schedule right into the Championship game with no other buffer at all. No incentive for the Big 10 to do so though. They get 2 teams in the BCS every year by keeping the status quo. Yep, why change and lose millions (why I'm not that mad about ND not joining a conference). And OSU played the 53rd and 38th toughest schedules the last two years. By no means tough but not cupcakes either.
  4. I know both of them now ...
  5. It's been said many times before. We have just as many top teams as they do but our medium and bad teams are worse than there's. For instance the Cards just beat Boston, and we beat White Sox but virtually everyone else lost.
  6. Nope hate the Buckeyes, grew up in West Lafayette. And you said essentially what I was implying. Sure Illinois hasn't lost a lot of players but they lost a lot in the players they lost. A good example of this is Purude in 2005. They only lost 3 or 4 starters total from 2004 but among them was Orton, Stubblefield and Rogers (top corner). That year Purdue had it's only losing season in 11 years with tiller.
  7. Theriot??? hehehe I doubt it but maybe or Pie.
  8. Theriot is an ideal 8-hitter. When he gets on base, it's likely a single or walk, so he is on first. This allows the weak hitting pitchers an easy sacrifice opportunity, or you might see Theriot swipe second to get in scoring position for someone like Zambrano who can actually drive him in. Plus you have a high OBP somewhat in front Soriano. I don't argue that point at all. Theriot is a ideal 8-hitter but with that said he was still producing in the 2-hole and our offense was clicking so I'm not going to sit and blast Lou for not messing with one of the best offenses we have ever had.
  9. They play in an easy conference but they have to get by USC first. in LA. They also play in Illinois against what will be an improved Illini squad, and they had no answers for them last year at the horseshoe... The game @ Wisconsin will not be easy either. without Mendenhall you will not be improved. You should still be good but you lost a premier RB and those don't come along all to often.
  10. They play in an easy conference but they have to get by USC first. Big Ten easy yeah okay
  11. Theriot has a good OBP and the highest average on the team, plus speed. It's not like our 2 hole has been bad all year. It's been very productive (does that sound dirty) and our offense until recently had the most runs in the majors. If I'm the manager I'm not going to mess with a team that is scoring better than everyone else and not going to move a guy out of a spot he has been producing in unless circumstances force my hand (like an injury). People on this board need to step down off their high horses, open their eyes, and quit complaining about our offense when there has been nothing wrong with it.
  12. "They kicked our butt and a loss is a loss no matter who you lose against or what kind of weekend you play," White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said. "They played better than we did. They performed better. They hit better, they pitched better. Not a lot you can say." I'm ok when he says this kind of stuff
  13. says it was made by a chicago ad agency should have known
  14. it's impossible to sweep a team out of town when they play in the same town as you
  15. pics ? do you really want pics with Z naked in them?
  16. that's actually pretty catchy
  17. It's amazing how many Cubs fans have pulled a John McCain and totally flip/flopped on Edmonds. It's amazing how I've posted less than 10 times and [deleted] like you are acting like you know I didn't support him from the start. Besides.... Mitt Romney was the flip flopper..... Not to get into a political debate but if you know what McCain was saying 2 years ago (and the rest of the time he has been office) and what he is saying today he is the kind flip-flopper. From wanting to unify the parties and voting democrat 30% of the time on issues to being all about Republicans and only Republican issues.
  18. Yep. The Cardinals are outperforming their predicted adjusted record by 5.7 wins and 'should be' a .500 team. Though, the Cubs are also a bit 'lucky' and should be 3.3 games worse than they currently are. The whole NL Central is outplaying its numbers. NL Central Current Predicted Standings w/ (AE)RS/(AE)RA (above/below actual record difference) Cubs 46-29 (+3.3) Cardinals 38-38 (+5.7) Brewers 37-37 (+2.7) Reds 35-41 (0.0) Astros 34-41 (+0.5) Pirates 30-45 (+5.8) Every year teams outplay there numbers that's why I don't care about stats like this. Arizona won what 30 games by one run last year I bet they played well over their numbers.
  19. it will be difficult to pull that off w/o balking. just do it sideways on the mound and you will never balk
  20. If he did, maybe he would realize that things have changed a bit at Wrigley since Lee Elia's comments. I'd venture to guess that the vast majority of Cubs fans are in fact making a respectable salary. Otherwise, how could we afford the $250 tickets, rooftops or $6.75 beers that Sox fans are so fond of saying we drink? that's why I want to just punch someone when they say Cubs fans are just jobless drunks. If we are jobless how do we sell out practically every game??? And if the White Sox aren't jobless then why do they get such bad attendance one of the largest markets???
  21. that's fine but you be the one to tell him
  22. its a no lose situation like edmonds
  23. Cubs fans intelligence > A.J.'s
