  1. Admit it. You enjoyed it. not that there's anything wrong with it
  2. how about just going to mlb.com it's pretty easy anyways here ya go http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/all_star/y2008/index.jsp
  3. I don't get it. Why would the Mods replace my original post with Cubbiebum's? Doesn't make any sense. The threads were merged, CubbieBum's came earlier so it's posts are first. Here's your post: viewtopic.php?p=1827372#p1827372 that's right I'm the number one stunna wh-what wh-what the number one stunna
  4. that's some epic, hard-hitting journalism right there. Yeah, that's pretty much scraping the underside of the barrel there to find something to be upset about. I'm not upset, he's right. I just don't see the point in even saying something like that. Thats why I said it was Mike Davis-esque. If he just said it out of the blue then yes it's dumb but if a reporter was asking about how the Big Ten will do this year or more specifically how IU will do then I have no problem with what he said.
  5. no he's the one that will likely finish second and have no shot at being the backup. At this point of the season Uggla is an MVP candidate. Not the leader but up there.
  6. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=280621119 Hope we get him soon.
  7. what's your point
  8. None of those because he won't get in the hall. I've become a fan of his over the last month but he's an outfielder with only 4 all-star appearances an average career average (.286), only 365 home runs and is only 19th on the active career RBI and run list (shows he doesn't stack up with other players in this era). His 10 GG's will get him some votes but he won't get 75% with those numbers. If Andre Dawson can't get in with more home runs, many more RBIs and runs, a similar average (.279), and 10 GG's then no way Edmonds can. All this said I'm guessing the post was meant as a joke.
  9. Edmonds had a good quote, though: What was Edmonds asked? Who is 'you'?
  10. thanks for getting it moved mods ...
  11. In general its a dumb idea to start messing with the batting order of the best offensive team in baseball. Lee has been in the three hole for years, you take him out and the whole offense could go into a funk. Plus him being in front of Aramis gives our better hitter more RBI opportunities because Lee gets on base well. The three and four holes (and leadoff) are pressure hitting spots that a lot of hitters don't handle well.
  12. I wasn't crazy about the signing then because I wanted Pie to get more of a shot to play, but I only saw an upside from signing Edmonds. We really had nothing to lose there. Of course, even in my wildest dreams did I not expect this from Hollywood. He has played very well since the end of June. I hope so Nostradamus
  13. me neither and I took it after my junior year not bothering to take it again, got 1150 so didn't need to although it could have helped
  14. I agree although that was said about the Mets with Santana. I guess never underestimate the amount a team values getting a star out of their league.
  15. he didn't say anything for all three homers ... but of course screamed as loud as he could "Youuuu can put in the booooard YES!" after there's
  16. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Danks I think it was more of a reference to the last time a white sox pitcher tried calling out the cubs (and greg maddux) and maddux replied with "Who's Mark Burhle?" I actually liked Burhle until he criticized one of this generation's best pitchers and an all around class act. Hey, maybe you should make it back to 500 before being critical of HOFs... In general, the Sox are a bunch of hot-headed mouths who are insecure with their standing in this town. They all deserve each other. his constant complaining about the other team stealing signs piss you off? He's the Orlando Cabrara of pitching. Wait a tic they're on the same team hmm imagine that.
  17. about 10 bats
  18. anyone found a high res of this one? I'd love to have it as a background. umm that's the one from last year that became used by about everyone for a wallpaper that's why I said we will soon have another one this time with a Sox player in the background. Not being harsh I can see how someone might think its new since its the same stance and I wasn't fully clear with the OP.
  19. hahahahaha he had a heartattack
  20. Let's hope this year's A-Ram walk-off has the same effect as last year. Funny how similar those two game ended and how they were captured perfectly. This will surely be my favorite photo--that is until we reach October! why what happens in October ... isn't that football season NBA preseason ohhh so the only time when my Yao and McGrady are healthy at the same time
  21. It was a player poll. Even worse. I would think that every hitter out there would know he's no good. I don't know who thinks he's highly regarded anymore. Errr...nevermind, I see you were talking about the BoSox/Yanks comments... a lot of people equate overpaid to overvalued which is the same as overrated ... it's not how I think of it but there are indeed some people when posed with that question immediately go with the guy they think is the worst well paid guy
