You guys are wrong. There are more people who apply to adopt then babies out there. The adoption agencies just don't accept a lot of people. They won't accept single's (which I can see for the most part) they don't accept people unless they make at least middle class money even though a large majority of people grow up in less than middle class (avg. income of U.S. adult is around $43,500 for 2006). In general adoption agencies only accept married, educated, well off couples and every one else gets denied even though that means thousands of kids grow up in some crappy warehouse full of wanted kids that the agency just won't let people adopt. WHy do I know all this? Because I have researched it. I plan on adopting at least one kid once I am married. Ideally I would want a couple of kids with my wife and a couple of adopted kids that of course would be treated as if they were my own. EDIT: Happy now that I got all the right accept's in rather than except.
