i am going to predict that michigan state does what they always do, start out good, lose a game to a good team that they should've won, then go in the toilet. this would be an interesting debate ... which school should get the copyright on starting out great losing a game they should win and then tanking; Purdue or MSU. purdue starts out great because they play lousy teams out of conference and always seem to get one or two big ten cream puffs early on too. so they're like 5-0 or 5-1 and people think they're good, then they start playing teams that are more talented than them - usually michigan, ohio state, penn state, wisconsin - and start losing. for quite a while, purdue is pretty much what penn state has been the last couple of years - they win the games they're supposed to win, and they lose the ones they're supposed to lose. except for that one game that Penn State should have lost but a betting ref decided he needed to let them win ... no I will never let this die I watched the game and said at the time one of the ref's must have bet on the game. Seriously how do you run the clock when someone ctahces the ball and walks out of bounds with no one within 10 yards of him.

People who think saying a girl who happens to be sixteen but looks 20 is good looking is creepy have some insecurities. I made it pretty damn clear I would never approach a 16 year old and you still call me creepy. Get over yourself, open your eyes, see what I wrote and don't exagerrate what I said or take it somewhere it obviously wasn't going. whatever creepo have fun dreaming about a 16 year old girl that looks 12 you should change your name to troll

Every guy here has seen a 16 year old and thought oh she looks good. Most girls are fully matured at 16 and many of them you can't tell. The important thing is to know she is 16 and stop yourself from thinking about a juvy girl too young. Shawn Johnson already is good looking but 16 and probably about 4'6".

I never could imagine when I would truly root against the Bears, but if Rex gets another job and starts against the Bears. I might. well, the meatballs rooted against grossman and the bears, so i could see myself doing the same at that point. if rex were available, the vikings might have been wise to give him a look. Travaris while not good showed quite a bit of potential last year and could turn into a average to above average QB. SO why would they throw that away to sign a guy who had chances to prove himself, couldn't, and wasn't resigned.

Exactly. If Culpepper and Leftwich can't get a starting job in FA then no way Grossman would have gotten one.

Orton has a lower TD to INT rate. He might be a game mananger, but he throws more INTs than Grossman. No he throws less interceptions than Grossman (in a interception to passing attempt model) but less touchdowns as well. Then again when you take into account roughly 80% of Orton's passing attempts came in his rookie year there's a good chance he actually will throw TD's at a better rate than Grossman (like how he did last year when Grossman took twice as many attempts to throw a TD).

FSN/Comcast/Whatever shows PAC 10 football. Does TBS still show the occassional game? okay yeah I have those aswell but they so rarely play a game I actually care about so I alweays forget about them.

People who get upset over animated players are the same people who couldn't handle trash talking and would get mad taking themselves out of the game as a kid. -
Well back to somewhat on topic I am glad I will have 8 channels for college football this year (ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, NBC, CBS, 3 BTN's).

It was regional last year. If your provider only has one channel, then you'll only get the regional game. It doesn't apply to providers with alternate channels unless you don't have enough alternates to get all of the games. South Bend's Comcast has 2, plus an allegedly HD channel that doesn't appear to broadcast in HD. We'll see how that flies. being an HD channel doesn't mean everything on that channel is HD quality. The games will likely be HD but probably nothing but. BTN is pretty much all HD. I mean, if they are showing Purdue vs. Northwestern girl's softball in HD, why would they scrimp anywhere else Yeah that goes along with what I said. All games are HD but the Big Ten Tonight may not be (I would think it is though) but for sure the shows that replay classic games isn't in HD because HD didn't exist then to film in. I've had BTN since March and during the summer about 50% of programming has been classic game replays.

Wow Whitlock compared Ball State to Boise State......well......I'm sorry but I just don't see it. I mean BSU was pretty tough last year but in the end their biggest achievement was almost winning in Lincoln against one of the worst Nebraska teams in ages. IU beat them pretty good and then Rutgers abused them in the bowl game. Ball State may win 10 games this year but BCS buster? Please, spare me. Whitlock is a) a Ball State alum and b) a moron. Just ignore him (it's what I do). he's not just an alum he was a starter on the football team

Yeah I go to Ball State (and cover the team) and I know we won't be a BCS buster. Our defense just can't stop the run. We are good against the pass but our true achilles heel is a scrambling quarterback. This is why Central Michigan with LeFevour and IU with Lewis always beat us. We should be a pretty easy 10 win team because we have a much much easier schedule this year and are just better in general. However we will likely lose in Central Michigan ending any chance at BCS and will probably lose another somewhere.

Not a lot, just a bit of fun to pass the time, really. Yeah I don't care a whole lot when guys drive in runs just as long as they do. 5 rbis is 5 rbis its just a little bonus to have guys who can do it late in games.

Penn State is in a much worse position than the Packers. It will be sad to see it happen, but it almost should happen. It's about 99% likely that Penn State screws the pooch on the whole thing. They'll either keep him around forever, they'll fire him (PR nightmare), or, if they get him to leave amicably, will just make an internal promotion for new head coach instead of making a splash They need some type of under the table buyout keeping him with the university afterwards where he agrees its time to step down. Yeah its really a no win situation for Penn State at all. They aren't going to get him with a buyout. He hasn't had or requested a raise in decades and if memory serves makes the lowest amount of any big ten coach at like 500 k. Yet despite being under paid by millions in his career (not that he cares I've seen quotes with him saying 500k is more than he needs) he has donated millions to Penn State. This guy lives a middle class life and is perfectly content with it. A buyout won't do a thing for him.

Have you seen some of the people from Missouri? Good point... but even before getting to how creepy he looks... oh lord, to have to put up with that voice daily. and just because she's there, doesn't mean she wants to be. She may be scared to leave or else she could end up in his freezer. Worse yet be featured in his next video.

I saw an interview 4 or 5 years ago with Cuban where he said if the NBA allowed it he would lose money sign the best team and win a championship. With baseball having no salary cap I think Cuban will raise it by one star player (15 mil or so) right away and if we don't win in one or two years raise it some more. In the interview he talked about being a billionaire and not needing to make money anymore so he will definately raise it.

I agree a couple of pitchers have been given longer leashes. But one pitchers are more scarce so they tend to get longer reaches (although Howry's has been too long this year) and he has called out Howry before. He just hasn't followed it up by benching him or sending him down (he does pitch less and in non-big situations now though). Lee has been up and down this season but he has proven to hit out of slump's in the past and is a leader on the team. -
Got jumping out of my seat screaming for swimming. I don't do that but maybe once every five years for any game I watch and its happened twice this year (Superbowl catch even though I don't really like the Giants or dispise the Pats).
