I wont get excited unless they are so hot in September because by the looks of it, if you arent hot then, you aren't winning anything in October, esp in the National League (Marlins, Rockies, Dodgers etc)
We all thought the cubs were a better team than the Dodgers and look how that has turned out thus far The Phillies are benefiting from Milwaukee having a pitcher who cant throw more than 75 pitches because he has been injured all year and another who hasn't pitched on normal rest in at least 2 weeks.
Seriously...it's time for Lou to own this. He's setting the guy up for failure in big spots, what does he expect? Stick him in center and bat him eighth, where his production will be only slightly below average. I hate to turn on Lou but there must be a reason why he never made it to the world series with some of those M's teams especially that one that won 115 (i dont remember nor do i care the real number) games
I certainly hope that doesn't happen. It would be humiliating for him and the Cubs. I have the utmost hope that he's able to work hard in the offseason and come back strong next year. I'm not saying he wasn't a detriment to the team offensively this season, just that I would hate to see something that started so promising end so poorly and abruptly. humiliating? Losing 9 straight playoff games after being 5 outs away from the world series with a 3-2 lead is humiliating Getting swept 2 years in a row is humiliating
It will be tough no doubt BUUUUT We have beaten the Cards in the last 2 series and easily could be 5-1 in the last 6 if woody didnt blow a save we swept the brewers at home while facing their 4 best in a row and easily could have taken the series in late april if Woody didnt blow a save I hate houston, i really do The mets series will be tough however 2-4 is possible, especially if we somehow miss santana (though if i did this right, he would pitch the monday game) AND SERIOUSLY if the sky was really falling, Milwaukee wouldn't have gone cold at the same time we did
THE SKY IS FALLING THE SKY IS FALLING OMG The sky is far from falling. If there is a reason the Cubs fail this season, it will be the pen. if you say so, but the same can be said about each and every single team. i feel really good having Wood and Marmol the bullpen blew how many games by this time last season?
It's not that big of a deal. It's not taboo for players to talk about about the World Series. You have a team who does nothing but talk about the world series, maybe thats why they have 26 pennants
or hitting a grand slam i dont see what the big deal is, its no different than saying i want to finish college and get my masters, i want to get married and have a family and all that other crap. im glad they are saying it. its about time that we have players thinking about making it there, you gotta first think it and want it before you can even attempt to make it
wait, so you actually were bothered by people moving around the box seats before the game? i dont even know what to say, if you dont like people meandering around your seat, maybe your choice of seating shouldnt be inside a 41k seat stadium maybe it's his job. well then he picked a bad job if he didnt like people meandering around his seat in a 41k seat stadium

I look dumb? That's your opinion. I think you look dumb that you don't think he is. He didn't earn the money last year either. 130 strikeouts & 20 steals w/ a low OBP for a leadoff hitter making $18 mill/yr doesn't do it for me. Sorry. I doubt very many cub fans have much confidence at all that he will be a high level player on the back end of that contract let alone now. Its not like they didnt know what they were getting when they signed him but i guess you arent that quick to understand this. You are the type who wouldve complained that we didnt get Soriano because they didnt spend the money but now that we spent the money he isint pulling his weight.
Are the media guides, in particular the Cubs media guide readily available to the public? If so, where can they be purchased? outside of wrigley field before every game
another post that is either sarcasm or completely off base, i can't tell which. or the person thinks they know baseball because they jumped on the cubs bandwagon at the end of last year and seeing he hit into that dp in game 3 then he must always hit into double plays didnt Pujouls lead the league in hitting into double plays last year, im sure thats a perfectly good reason to not want him on a team according to some people
im glad you feel all these things but you really look dumb saying that Soriano appears to be the biggest bust after 7, seven, yes 7 games in the 2nd year of a contract. esp after he batted 300, hit 33 hrs, 40+ doubles ect in his first year
