  1. thats what happens when nothing is going right
  2. i sit on a rooftop every opening day, its really great esp since the last 2 opening days have been crappy
  3. He has absolutely no pitch recognition and looks pretty damn gawdawful I hope this quiets the "Hoffpaiur for hall of fame" talk Who's pitching? Doesn't matter, the people demanding Lee's head and placing Hoffpaiur on a pedestal deserve this game now benching Milton Bradley was a poor choice Just so you know, Hoff has gotten TWO, 2, at bats since last Saturday, if you think that doesnt matter, you should not be commenting on baseball

  5. in 2008 the cubs got swept by Tampa and Sox but still scored 9 runs each series in sept they got swept by houston and lost 2 of 3 to reds scoring 12 runs in the loses but 14 in the win at Reds youre right, not quite this bad
  6. the 2009 cubs remind me of the 2004 cubs, extremely streaky, one day they score 15 runs, the next week they are ice cold
  7. Yup because its easy to get an at bat a game at most and then be thrown out there against Jake Peavy
  8. Love how Lou put Hoffpauir in against one of the toughest pitchers in the game, now we wont see him again for another few days
  9. yes let's trade him for juan pierre, that guy is raking. i'd rather have a guy who is hitting great RIGHT NOW than a guy who is underperforming and hitting line drives at people. I'd rather have 2006 Juan Pierre at this point than Milton Bradley i wouldnt go that far
  10. i am ashamed to say i live on Honorary Jim Hendry way.
  11. What about 2005 when they had complete game after complete game when it mattered most Huh? I started talking about the Cubs pitchers in the second paragraph. . misread it
  12. What about 2005 when they had complete game after complete game when it mattered most
  13. Peavy is a good pitcher no doubt but he would be going from one of the very worst home run parks to one of if not the best.
  14. i could imagine the very bowels of hell opening and swallowing Hendry if the Brewers got both Peavy and Derosa
  15. I wish the Cubs were more like the Sox and just call this game already. Its going to rain a good part of the afternoon. It does clear up a bit late in the day but redevelopment is possible
  16. too bad this game will be rained out in the top of the third, the storms are popping up all over the place now and Young and Lilly are so slow
  17. Jim Hendry is a moron for not trading for me
  18. I'd laugh if Detroit beat the Ducks and came in here and swept the hawks. Careful what you ask for, you just might get it.
  19. A closet. Imagine a room about half the size of the part of the cubs lockerroom shown above. The cubs lockerroom has like a little kitchen and a weight room attached to it. The visitors does not. It's just a little square room. I didn't think the visitors was that bad. The Cubs' is rectangular, very narrow. The visitors' is more square. Not sure if you measured it the sizes are really all that different. i agree, i would imagine the Cubs clubhouse being more cramped because its so narrow
  20. "just one of those things that could F up our season" Ugh, as soon as I saw that happen I got a knot in my stomach. This is going to suck. it reminds me a lot of 2006 after Lee got hurt, of course the team is a lot better than that one was but
  21. The thing about Hendry is even if he ends up grossly over pying, he'll get his guy if needed Ankiel was actually DLd today, or maybe it was yesterday. ok 15 days is still a whole lot better than possibly 8 weeks Yeah, too bad Aramis is on the 8 week DL. What are you talking about, obviously he will go on the 15 day DL because 60 would be too much esp if he heals faster. That doesnt mean he would be ready at the end of the 15 unlike Ankiel who wouldnt be ready to go for the next few games. Hell it could very well be longer if there is more damage in the shoulder that the Xrays pick up.
  22. Hendry worked for the Marlins for three years before joining the Cubs. He has worked for the Cubs since 1995. Explain to me how Chad Fox having pitched for the Marlins in 2003 and 2004 would possibly qualify him as one of Hendry's "pets from Florida". You have completely owned this argument. Not to mention Hendry has worked for the Cubs longer than Fox has even been in the majors
