  1. Personally, a high fastball on Pedroia would be a belt high inside FB on a NORMAL size ballplayer. 8-)
  2. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090314&content_id=3986650&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc gross. Here's to Mike Fontenot hitting lefties unbelievably awesome to start the yr. I want nothing to do with Miles getting the same amount of at-bats as Fontenot.
  3. yeah why on earth would an employer fire an employee for publicly calling them [expletive]? I can't believe I a defending Eagles fans, but: Reprimand him, don't fire him. All he was doing is speaking the mind of what most if not all Eagles fans were already thinking. MO is that he didn't warrant being fired, Eagles FO is bunch of sensitive babies. McNabb basically criticize Eagles for letting Dawkins and Thomas go (even tho, Thomas is near washed up, but Dawkins still has two good yrs left in him), so shouldn't the Eagles organization fire McNabb too? mcnabb is a lot more valuable than some lackey who punches tickets. if that guy were invaluable to the organization then he'd have room to talk. I understand that, my point was firing some "ticket puncher" because he spoke negative against the organization, one that he bleeds his heart too, btw, is beyong stupid. Basically if you can't speak nice of the company you will be fired. Philly basically censored this man's right to free speech. Again, he didn't warrant being fired, especially in these tough economic times. Shame on you Philadelphia Eagles, shame on you.

  5. Something tells me that Lee will be on a short leash in the three spot this yr. If Lee continues his quest to become the greatest double play machine in MLB History, I will put money of Piniella moving him out of the 3 spot. Between you and me, Lee should be hitting 6th this yr, but Piniella has the respect factor for the "experienced" player to make that move.
  6. I haven't seen a coach as badly prepared and constantly outcoached on a daily basis since Tim Floyd. I hope for the same fate for VDN.... Floyd lasted for 2 and a half seasons. Lets hope not. Of course not, but I hope the share the same fate of being fired by the Bulls.
  7. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad this team showed their "playoff intensity" tonight. Otherwise tonight would have been a bummer.

  9. Hey Hosak; How confident are you that Lane Kiffin can keep Brown motivated about playing for Tennessee? This is a younh man who would routinely "shut it down" while in HS after he reached his numbers. This a young man who would not stretch with his teammates and the only guy allowed around him is his handler. This is a young man who Miami refused to keep a scholly on the table for. MIAMI of all teams took their name out of the hat for Bryce Brown even after already landing his brother last yr. I mean Bryce Brown is a helluva talent, no question about it. If Kiffin and the coaching staff gets him to buy into playing for Tennessee instead of playing for himself, this is a major coup of Brown. But that is the major question, isn't it?
  10. I guess this means the Cubs are no longer interested in Bobby Crosby?
  11. I would like that very much.
  12. This makes me and alot Bama fans very, very sad and upset. Motivated, and in shape and Andre Smith should be the first OT taken in the draft, but as we have all seen is that "Big Dre" is neither. But he made his bed, he now has to sleep in it.
  13. Which is why I am hoping the Bulls ship his worthless butt out this offseason. Thomas is going to be up for an extension, and you know this bum is going to ask for "big man" money and he is clearly not worth more then MLE money. I am hoping that another team fell in love with Thomas' game when T was playing well and offer Paxson a decent deal for him. My worst case scenerio is that Tyrus plays well next yr for the full year and ask for a 5/6 yr 50/60 million dollar extension and then pulls a Stromile Swift. The Bulls can't afford to crappy long-term deals on this team, especially if they plan on making a run at one of the major stars in the class of 2010, so again I am hoping Thomas and BG has the same travel agent, cause I want both leaving Chicago this offseason.
  14. :-k =D>

  17. I think most people didn't like the trade because Olson was "supposedly" a guy the Padres wanted in a trade for Peavy and when he went to Seattle, it would officially mean that Peavy was not coming to Chicago. As for Olson "have had more valuable than a reliever coming off a horrible season" statement: it is true Heilman had an awful season. But Heilman is a reliever who had ERAs or 3.17/3.62/3.03 and WHIPs of 1.14/1.16/1.07 coming into 2008. So imo Heilman had an off yr in 2008 and the Mets found an out to get rid off him. Heilman even coming off a rough yr in New York still has more value than unknown in Olson. I realize Olson has put up really good numbers in the minors, but in 33 games in the majors Olson has put up a line of 6.87ERA/1.81WHIP with the O's. Now I do understand Olson will get better but for 2009 and perhaps even 2010, Heilman will be a better pitcher than Olson. With that said, do I have some concerns about Heilman becoming Latroy Hawkins part 2? Of course I do, but I feel safer going into 2009 with Heilman in the pen, then say Vizcaino in the pen and Olson in AAA. So yeah, I kinda like the deal.
  18. He also said Fontenot and Miles are "similar players." So go figure.
  19. Thinking Fontenot and Aaron Miles are similar players, that's so funny, Harold.
  20. The question should be, how is Aaron Gray still in the NBA?
  21. Why would you say that? Hill started with most of the other starters on Wednesday night. Randy Bush seemed to give them an equal chance in his interview on Thursday. I would assume they would be leaning towards Bako but I haven't seen anything from the club about that yet. this is a battle that i'm totally interested about. Who's hotter: Rosanne or Rosie O'Donnel? Can I gouged my eyes out before I make that decision?
  22. That doesn't surprise me. Julio is the complete package, he is everything a coach wants in a player.
  23. Am I the only one who thinks this Zeigler fellow has nothing on his pitches? A homerun, hard hit double, and a hard hit singe in first three batters, don't exactly strike confidence in me. Zeigler definately has nothing tonight.
  24. ATP the Hawks need to get Khabby healthy and ready for the playoffs. IMO, after the season I much rather re-sign Nik to a 2/3 yr deal for reasonable money, and trade Huet to a goaltender desparate team and have Niemi as Nik's backup, over bring Huet back. I cannot get confident with Huet in goal, and I think the Hawks should trade him in the offseason. I just don't know if they would be able to get anyone to take on his contract. And it would be, in effect, Tallon admitting a mistake. Hopefully he is willing to do that. Then that would be a problem? If a GM cannot admit he made a mistake with a FA signing, then perhaps he shouldn't be the GM of a major city sports franchise. IMO, the Hawks would have to include a pretty good prospect, say Aliu, Skille, or perhaps Brower if they want to move Huet, and while I am normally against such a transaction, I wouldn't be too upset in this case. Huet is too much of the "stud or dud" extreme.
