  1. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/9227990/MLB-may-amend-Type-A-free-agent-rules?CMP=OTC-K9B140813162&ATT=49 . :-k
  2. http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=272362 Just speculation, but there are now a few different mentions from tonight that make it sound like the Bulls are having second thoughts Perhaps, but both Paxson AND Reinsdorf knows if they miss out on another superstar (or a borderline superstar, as some called Amar'e) after missing out on Gasol, KG and perhaps even Kobe (even tho I didn't believe for one second he would live LA) they will be hammered by the media and the fans. I can see the predicament they are in, I really do. Is Amar'e worth a total of 4 players and a prospect? Is he worth the reported 5 yr $100 mill extension? Can you convince him to play team ball? Can you keep him healthy? Helath is the biggest question of them all, seeing as some think medically he is a walking time bomb with his knee. I know the situation is a tough one, but they put themselves in this spot when they made it known they were interested in Amar'e. But imo, if they fail to land Amar'e and/or watch him go to an Eastern Conference rival, they will be literally beaten down badly through the media in Chicago. Personally, I think the gamble is worth taking, and we'll see if the Bulls brass has a pair of...................fill in your own manhood reference. Another thing to consider is this....a couple of weeks ago he made a comment to Mike North in which he said: So Reinsdorf knows the major problem and the answer to his problem is staring him in the face. So the opportunity has presented itself, but will Reinsdorf and co answer it?
  3. Nah, he's too young to interest Sabean. #-o That's right he doesn't have his AARP card...
  4. Does this mean Brian Sabean is interested?
  5. He's a Laker homer. I'm surprise he hasn't said the Lakers are in the lead for Amar'e.
  6. I wonder if Sharp's injury changes the Blackhawks direction as it pertains to trades? With Kane not playing well and now Sharp being hurt, the Hawks offense went from one of the best to medicore in a hurry.
  7. I would be his Bandit. :-k
  8. No it wasn't contreversial, it's just annoyed the piss out of Cubs fans who were/are Bulls fans.
  9. +1 -1 I don't know of anyone who doesn't realize Jerry's a problem. Nothing can be done about JR. Maybe shout at him a little bit from the curb as he gets in his limo. Like Krause and his infamous "Players don't win championships, organizations do" line, Reinsdork has his own line, “I trade all six of [the Bulls basketball titles] for one baseball championship." Ever since Reinsdork made that statement, I knew he would never seriously run the Bulls like they should be run. I hate the fact that JR runs the Bulls as he is simply killing time in the offseason waiting for the White Sox to return. Reinsdorf is the main reason why I am an opponent of owners owning more then one sports franchise, cause ultimately one team under said owner's control will be treated like a step child, and the Bulls are the team that Reinsdorf basically ignores.
  10. I disagree that he's made a ton of bad moves. His only huge mistake was signing Ben Wallace, I feel. Unfortunately, he hasn't made any great moves, either. To me, he's the definition of mediocre. Agree. Paxson with the help of Skiles did make Bulls a relevent team in the NBA again. Paxson's biggest fault was the fact he wasn't a risk taker. And the one risk he did take, he got BURNED on (Ben Wallace). Looking back at it, letting Deng/Gordon walk as FA or via trades would have been the best moves he could make. Deng has proven he is Eddie Robinson will some skill. Gordon is a 1 Dimension scorer with no other skills. So I agree with you Tyrant, Paxson wasn't a terrible GM who "made a ton of bad moves".
  11. For me it is either Z's no-no, or the time he broke a baseball bat over his need. Even tho hitting the three run homerun againsts Wade Miller in Houston in 2003 was a fantastic moment, also.
  12. It's on around 1:00pm in my neck of the woods, and of course I am getting it recorded. I remember coming home from HS and tuning in to the game in the Top of the 9th. I didn't know what was going on till AFTER the game. So this is quite frankly, my first time watching the game from first batter till last batter. And outside of the Z no-no (still fun to say), that 20 K game is my favorite moment as a Cub fan.
  13. An average Luol Deng tonight and the Bulls win the game VERY EASILY, prolly around the 10-15 points. Subpar Deng and tonight is the product. I hate it. One night very good Deng, next night Eddie Robinson.
  14. The Brewers has 100 fans? :-k
  15. I kinda doubt that. Brett does have a nephew who is about the enter college football. And his nephew isn't half bad.
  16. Any deal that has JJ Hickson as part of the deal has chance of happen, IMO. It could happen, but doubtful.
  17. With the additions of Javier Valentin, and Corey Patterson, along with currnet National Dmitri Young, Jim Bowden is trasnforming the old Montreal Expos into the new Washington Reds. Derwood you also forgot the likes of Corey Patterson, Joel Guzman and Josh Willingham are also in the OF mix some of them are non-roster invitees at this point Understood, but Bowden love of OFer surpasses Hendry love of the crappy backup MI.
  18. I don't think it would be about that. From the articles that came out a couple weeks ago on those business websites, it sounds like he just can't afford it Then why spend 3/4 of your family net worth on a baseball team?

  20. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/57158/20090211/blazers_could_send_aldridge_and_bayless_for_amare/ Some are saying it's just Kerr or Portland trying to drive up the price though If there is a player the Blazers need that is on Phx, it is not Amar'e, it would be Nash. So this story of them being interested in Amar'e reeks of PHX trying to drive up the price.
  21. Deng hasn't done anything in the past 2 years to convince me that he will be an integral part of the core. Those are also 3 players that are below average defensively, especially Deng. True, but he is still basically untradeable, but still has good potential to get better. So playing with Amar'e and Rose I think will be a big boost to Deng.
  22. I have exactly the opposite fear. I'm afraid that Paxson is under a lot of pressure to make a deal and will give up a lot, including Thomas, for Stoudamire. That will essentially take the Bulls out of the 2010 free agent running and I don't know that Rose & Stoudamire will ever be enough to win a title. Well with a core of Rose/Deng and "potentially" Stoudemire, why would the Bulls be interested in the class of 2010? The only reason why they would be interested in that class is if Amar'e decides to leave after 2010? A little winning, Chicago being Chicago, and the Bulls showing $$$, and I see no reason for Amar'e to leave. Getting Amar'e would be a good substitute over possibly getting shut out in 2010. But what a game by T2 and Noah.
  23. He's no bigbird, but Tech9 is a pretty reliable poster at realgm. But then again being reliable don't always means trades, etc, etc, will happen. Tech9 is not a "troll", he is what he is. He's reliable. Note: I believe I saw UMFan over at realgm.
  24. Yes it is, but on the flip side the Bulls would be getting 1: the best player in the trade in Amar'e. 2: They Bulls would also be getting a player to replace Noah in either Lopez or Amundson. But it's definately a workable trade. This scares me because it works under the salary cap. I think Thomas, Gooden, Thabo, and the 1st rd pick will be more than anyone else will be able to offer. I know, which is why I am holding off getting excited, because we've seen this story play out several times by two of Chicago sports teams. Reserving all excitement until proof.
