  1. A good dad? Yes, actually.
  2. He looks like the type of Dad who would do that
  3. Indeed, just so it's easier to visualize: Top Braves ERA+ / Top Cubs ERA+ 187 / 184 168 / 154 144 / 144 117 / 132 102 / 118 Braves top half is better by a surprisingly narrow margin. Bottom half is substantially worse than ours. At the moment anyways.
  4. The Cardinals are hitting so many home runs it inspired Jayson Stark to write one of his "You gotta hear this crazy horsefeathers" articles: http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/17388615/st-louis-cardinals-winning-long-ball
  5. The widely considered best rotation of all time is the 98 Braves. Their numbers looked like this: http://i.imgur.com/POBsavy.png Here's what the Cubs, at present, look like: http://i.imgur.com/ehGcOZv.png They're really not all that far off from the consensus best rotation of all time. At the very least, if they keep up their pace, they could easily be considered one of the Top 5, IMO, maybe even Top 3... but we have injured Lackey and 2nd half Hammel making an appearance so who knows what will happen.
  6. I hadn't even really noticed anyone saying that the Cubs have one of the greatest rotations of all time, but after looking up a few "Best of" lists, including one about the best rotations of all time and one about the best rotations of the past 25 years, if the Cubs rotation finished out the season continuing the pace they're on, they could easily be considered one of the best of all time. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1734249-ranking-the-top-10-starting-rotations-of-the-last-25-years http://www.espn.com/espn/page2/story?page=list/greatestrotations
  7. Found on Reddit:
  8. To be fair that could've been appreciative shock rather than dismay that someone used a Mean Girls gif.
  9. The Indians and Tyler Naquin just hit a walk off inside the park home run off the Jays. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/70087564/v1070372483/torcle-naquin-hits-insidethepark-walkoff-homer/?query=naquin
  10. You guys don't? Weirdos
  11. If his stuff will play up in the pen then it seems like a worthwhile gamble. Can't be much worse than Smith or Patton, at least.
  12. Is Zastryzny one of those guys who has good stuff and his peripherals are better than his actual numbers, or is he pure trash like his numbers would seem to indicate?
  13. Yes I always figure that's difficult for a pitcher, but it also is probably just an excuse. I profiled earlier in the thread the 3 run home run Jake gave up was a bad pitch and not a bad call by Contreras. Looked like a 2-seamer that he called for low and out of the zone and and Jake threw it belt high over the middle of the plate. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/10025018/v1065580283 That was the first hit he had given up in the game.
  14. You're going to wake up tonight and just find Hendricks staring at you from the foot of your bed. I was only being formal. Plus Jake is still the WAR leader on the staff with 3.7 to Hendricks' 3.0
  15. Just checking in and saw Arrieta gave up a home run and I went to watch it in hopes that it was just a bad pitch and not a bad call by Contreras and sure enough it looks like it was a pitch that Arrieta missed his spot on and not the result of a bad decision by Willson, so it makes me happy that besides that hiccup of an inning, it would seem Contreras is doing well behind the plate with our ace on the mound. http://i.imgur.com/L3vf5pj.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/gUTyf5R.png Yeah home runs are prone to happen when you put them belt high over the middle of the plate.
  16. It is quite a strange prediction, yes. Especially since he's been hot garbage since going to the Mets.
  17. Dan Szymborski's Current MVP Prediction Percentages, according to an ESPN article: Rizzo: 22.7% Bryant: 19.6% Murphy: 18.3% Seager: 11.1% Bruce: 4.9% Ramos: 3.2% Myers: 3.0% Marte: 2.6% Braun: 1.9% Arenado: 1.6%
  18. Because...? Is it his haircut? Are we basing this on a haircut?
  19. Donaldson is a douche? Why? Donaldson rules. http://www.bluejaysplus.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/DonaldsonWalkOff.gif
  20. I stand. It's how I was taught as a child and I never stopped ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Truth be told, I had no idea people wiped when they sat down until I saw this scene in Rules of Attraction:
  21. I'M GONNA VOTE FOR THE GUY IN THE HALL OF FAME NOT THE HALL OF SHAME, DAVID
  22. Didn't someone on Twitter say they plan on using Rondon today? His injury was apparently mostly precautionary and not too serious to be DL'd for.
