  1. If I want big box office appeal/tremendous talent now... I go with Hanley Ramirez If I want to build around someone for the future who will draw big box office appeal/tremendous talent later rather than sooner... Alex Gordon
  2. Yes, because Hudson clearly stands out WITH Utley above all other 2b's in the entire world. :^o They're not paying him for the talent, they're paying him for the rights to his gnarly nickname
  3. This does not bode well for my team in Baseball Mogul 2009
  4. at least they recognize that it is a problem. The whole blackouts on Saturday thing is a joke. If I live in Alabama, and I have EI, and I want to watch a game between Seattle and Oakland, but can't because Fox blacks out all the games, that's just dumb. I had MLB.tv last year and they blacked out all Devil Rays and Marlins games too. Blackouts are the dumbest thing ever.
  5. just tuned into wgn, why does it sound like a radio feed?
  6. Seems like everyone is locking up their young talent way too early. The guy had a near 30-30 year. I like his ability, but man did his other numbers suck last year. Is it me, or am I the only one who thinks these teams should at least wait another year or two so they can have them on the cheap cheap before arby kicks in before throwing out these big contracts after one good year (which aside from the HR and SB, sucked)?
  7. Maybe I'm just a homer, but I was expecting at least 35HR from Lee this year. Almost all the prediction systems have him hitting somewhere between 20-30HR this year, based on his crappy year last year where he was clearly bothered by his wrist the first half of the season. The second half of the season should've been an indicator that Lee's still got it. I think he could be a darkhorse MVP candidate, easily.
  8. You'd be headed into the 10th inning with Philadelphia
  9. The stuff on Rogers' hand looked slick and greasy, and in one specific spot of his hand. That just looks like his hand got dirty and he wiped the dirt off, and it's all over his hand, and ridiculously noticeable. I doubt it was a "foreign substance"
  10. Fox blacks out Saturday games before 6 PM It's also airing on CSN though and Extra Innings has been carrying each game so far thus week and they don't have this one listed.
  11. Anyone else having issues with it today? All the games listed are set up for tomorrow, and the Game Mix only shows 4 games, all starting later tonight. They have the Cubs vs. Pirates listed, and the Cubs vs. Astros game they have listed elsewhere on the channel list is for tomorrow. WTH Extra Innings?
  12. This question made me think just how stacked our farm system could look like if we had a fire sale, then I realized that we wouldn't get as much back in return because of everyone's ridonkulous contracts
  13. I hate the Cardinals, only because they are the historical rival. But I hate the Brewers more, only because they're the immediate threat to our success. If/When they start to suck like they did in years past, I could care less, but right now, I really really really really hate the Brewers. The Cardinals don't bother me as much right now because I know they're not going to be a huge threat, but I'll always hate them regardless
  14. Uh oh, unless you want to get Rick Roll'd, I'd take your phone number down since you don't need it up there anymore.
  15. likewise. MLB.tv offers a similar thing, but it lags so much and is a huge memory hog on my computer. I also dig the standings and stats on demand, too. I wasn't planning on buying it, but I'm seriously considering now, and the GameMix was a big convincer. Unfortunately I'm broker than broke so it'll be a while before i can get it
  16. I wonder if you're in my league, I put a waiver claim in on him too and have to wait till the 5th as well. I'm 8th on the waiver wire in a 14 team league. It sucks, my pitching is awful, I really need a guy like Cueto, lol
  17. haha, it would get ugly. Where has DoucheBagman been? (apologize in advance if you guys are offended) Pretty sure he got banned for calling everyone a bunch of sticks. Would you please point me to that thread? That sounds like a whole lot of fun! Wasn't it in the infamous Brian Roberts thread?
  18. Thank you Ryan Braun and your designated hitter only ability

  20. FWIW, the throw was nearly spot on, but Weeks got there before the ball did and Soto got pummeled.
  21. For those who didn't see it. Sacrifice fly, Weeks took out Soto before the ball even got there, ball gets away because Soto is on the ground, Gwynn comes around to score
  22. Over/under amount of plate appearances before Rickie Weeks gets plunked again?
  23. I love this Dempster in the rotation idea, great, great, decision. Go Cobs!
  24. Remember a few years back when Pujols had plantar fasciitis and people said "Oh, it's the same thing that ended McGwires career" and "He won't last much longer" and "It's really starting to hamper him" then Pujols continued to be the best player in the league? Just saying I'll believe the injury crap when I see it. As far as the trade goes, if your closers are lacking, it may be a good trade. Just my opinion, but I expect Lee to hit 30+ home runs. I think he's found his stroke again, as was evident by the last half of the 2007 season. I think he's going to be one of the top 1B in the league again
