  1. I love this Dempster in the rotation idea, great, great, decision. Go Cobs!
  2. Remember a few years back when Pujols had plantar fasciitis and people said "Oh, it's the same thing that ended McGwires career" and "He won't last much longer" and "It's really starting to hamper him" then Pujols continued to be the best player in the league? Just saying I'll believe the injury crap when I see it. As far as the trade goes, if your closers are lacking, it may be a good trade. Just my opinion, but I expect Lee to hit 30+ home runs. I think he's found his stroke again, as was evident by the last half of the 2007 season. I think he's going to be one of the top 1B in the league again
  3. Perfect game over. Justin Upton home run
  4. Cueto now... 5IP 0H 0BB 8K's 58 pitches, 43 for strikes. Sick
  5. Johnny Cueto is dominating the D-Backs right now. Perfect game through 4 innings with 7K's
  6. My brother overreacts all the time. Him: "They're down 8-2!?!?!" Me: "Yeah, they're gonna lose, what else is new" Him: "I can't believe it, they're already gonna be 3 games back after this is over" Me: "It's only been 2 games" Him: "So what, that doesn't mean anything" Me: "You're making me stupid" My brother also thinks Rich Hill is crap, we should've traded Murton for Byrd, Jon Lieber is awesome, and Felix Pie will never ever be good
  7. In the grand scheme of choosing talent over risk, Rich Harden is one pitcher who I would avoid despite having loads of talent. He gets injured way too much and would cost a king's ransom even though it took him 3 years to pitch one full seasons worth of games (32 starts over 3 years). I don't trust that kind of unreliability, and Beane will make a killing off of Harden's upside alone I would assume. I wouldn't like it if that were the case
  8. How much does it cost to even sit on one of the rooftops on average?
  9. Isn't he concerned for his entire career now after that set back he had in spring training? What was it again? If he doesn't bounce back it sounded like his career is in jeaopardy
  10. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3324343 Thanks for beating a dead horse, ESPN. Hard hitting journalism at its finest. I'm sure that's what Alou wants to be asked 5 years after the fact.
  11. christ, i thought today's game was bad enough...no need to hit the panic button so quick and are you REALLY prepared? Amen. This isn't really an issue of the Cubs "injury reports." Z has had this problem on an off for the last few years. He needs to be drinking more water/sports drinks before and during his starts. Nothing more. Don't be so naive, guys. "Forearm cramping" in Cubs injury report terminology means "inoperable severe brain tumor", we all know that. His goose is cooked
  12. I think it's safe to say he wasn't throwing real baseballs. I'm sure they were a padded ball of sorts, which probably made the movement easier to achieve. Either way, these videos are awesome
  13. You bites your tongues, Melky Cabrera is the second coming of Jesus!
  14. 1. Male 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. No 5. Definitely 6. Mark Prior and Kerry Wood (but in all seriousness, terrible management)
  15. If the Tigers end up with less wins than the Cubs, I'll barf a fart
  16. My vote is for Enter Shikari's "Mothership", which I thought would make a perfect song for a closer the moment I heard it, based on the heavy pump up intro and the lines "Go tell all your friends that this is the end". And the anthemic singing in it would be awesome if everyone in the crowd sang along with it
  17. Just looked at his stats and realized I was thinking of someone else. I take that back. His stats are gross.
  18. Fixed That's hilarious. Oh, and this is sarcasm. Sorry. Didn't think it'd be that big a deal given the recent miscommunication. My bad
  19. $3 million was too much of a burden? Man, Milwaukee is cheap. I wonder if the Nats will go after him. Their rotation is fubar, he might be the #1 or #2 in that rotation.
  20. +1. If we traded Murton for Byrd I was gonna crap a hernia
  21. I've been meaning to quote the Cliff Floyd line in my signature for a few weeks now but never got around to it. Yeah, the book is hilarious, and awesome. Even if you don't play Fantasy Baseball, you should still buy this book, it's an awesome bathroom read
  22. GEOVANNY SORTO IS TEH SXE
  23. Attack of the renegade commas Confounded fingers and their stupid typing
