  1. Like were capable of driving runs in. Yeah, it's not like the Cubs were second in baseball in runs scored last year and return pretty much the same lineup.
  2. 3. Same here. But I would love to see Rose simply abused Rondo/Marbury or whoever they put on him during the playoffs. Unfortunately, Rondo is an outstanding defender and will probably neutralize Rose pretty well. Since that'll take away the Bulls biggest weapon, they don't have a chance.
  4. I agree. That .328 OPS would look miiiiighty fine right about now. Oh damn you showed me. If you think Miles is a better option at the plate than Cedeno, I dont know what to tell you. Crap ballplayers are crap ballplayers. Why bother getting worked up?
  5. I agree. That .328 OPS would look miiiiighty fine right about now.
  6. LIBERACE WAS GAY?!?! /austin powers
  7. Just because it's a "generally known fact" around the league doesn't mean it's true. It's a generally known fact that Cardinals fans are the best in baseball. I think many here would disagree with that. My problem comes from the fact he uses Jacque Jones and LaTroy Hawkins as examples of racist behavior. They weren't booed because they were black; they were booed because they failed a lot. Also, the most booed Cub I've ever heard is Todd Hundley. I'm sure there are racists who go to Cubs games, but I really am skeptical that it's a higher ratio than any other ballpark.
  8. Or, that's what Gordon Wittenmeyer thinks. What a stupid, stupid article.
  9. I thought this thread was going to be about Ryan Dempster. He's such a card.
  10. While I'm not one to automatically say Lou knows more than anyone on a message board, it's definitely a tough call. I think even the smartest posters on this board would make mounds of errors in attempting to manage a 162-game season. None of that means people can't criticize Lou. That's why sports message boards exist. My objection comes from calling him an idiot or a "terrible" manager. It's just not true.
  11. Thanks, Jim Really? Any team's lineup is going to look terrible when you remove 3 of its 4 best hitters.
  12. No, he isn't. It just looks like it when every bad decision is blown up and highlighted. Lou is the best Cubs manage in a long, long, long time and it's annoying to hear people freak out over every little thing he does. I know it's the basis for every message board, but it's hypersensitive overreaction. And you're right, I probably shouldn't read any of these threads, since I already know what is inside.
  13. [some NSBB reader]We don't expect Lou to be perfect, we just expect him to not do idiotic things like bat Aaron Miles ever!!!!!!!!![/some NSBB reader] Taking care of that for everyone.
  14. Lou made bad decisions yesterday but I'm not eager for another year of "HE'S A FREAKING IDIOT." He's not an idiot. He's a pretty good manager who sometimes makes bad decisions. He's a mediocre in-game manager, but a very good talent evaluator. There isn't a single manager in baseball who is perfect, so I'm not sure why everyone expects Lou to be flawless, day in and day out.
  15. It was linked from the other thread and I hadn't seen it before, plus I can't read. So there.
  16. If you read the very first line of the article, it becomes clear that this is not the case.
  17. Wrigley has lots of nostalgia, but it IS a dump compared to most other parks. Like it or not, the issue is going to have to be addressed at some point, whether it's 2015 or 2050, the Cubs are going to have to either gut and rebuild Wrigley, or get a new stadium.
  18. Harvin is also a LOT stronger than Hester. I don't think they're that similar, except that they're both explosive players.
  19. I can find a way to blame Dusty for about anything, but Chad Fox's frail elbow isn't one of them.
  20. I propose that they hang Ed Lynch from the flagpole instead.
  21. Ben played great for most of the time, but he gets greedy and decides to take 27 foot three-pointers which I am not a big fan of. He will score 40 and give up 40. Who DOESN'T give up 40 to Dwayne Wade. I feel like I'm the only Ben Gordon defender in the entire world. But wait until next year when he's gone and the Bulls are averaging 83 points a game and sitting at 4-17.
  22. Looks great, Tim! Welcome to the 21st century in web design. :D
  23. I believe I was the first one to say he had an elbow injury way back last March or April. The first one in a particular thread? Or on this board? Or in the entire world? Please specify your level of prescient genius so we can gaze upon you with the proper amount of reverence and awe.
