  1. I know there are a lot of guys missing on D, but they just look awful.
  2. Illinois badly needs their bye week. Their secondary is struggling hard thanks to some injuries (and not being very good to begin with).
  3. Go ahead and delete this mods
  4. Ha, beat me by a minute.
  5. Him being that size and playing center seems like a broken down body waiting to happen
  6. I also think the presence of a bat like Soto changes things in a way that WAR doesn't measure. It changes the way pitchers approach the guys around him, maybe being more aggressive in the zone in front of him for example. But alas, he's not going to be a Cub
  7. Yeah, it was clear from Oregon's first drive that the talent disparity was just huge. And right now, that doesn't bother me too much as an Illini fan. They're far from the doormat of the Lovie years. Right now, the goal for me is Iowa results with a watchable offense. It looks like 8 wins is pretty realistic this year. It would only be the 16th season with 8+ wins in program history, and only the 7th of my lifetime. I'm happy with that, with hope that it will continue to improve. (And with a roster that should theoretically bring back all but like 10 dudes, that improvement could take off next year).
  8. I know AFL pitching is generally not very good, but it's so fun watching him continue to hit so well
  9. Fitting in a new OL mid-season seems very difficult. A run stuffing DT might be the best addition without giving up too much in terms of draft picks
  10. Wendell Carter was a solid pick too
  11. I believe that Soto will prove to be more valuable over the life of his contract than Judge will over his. Judge is so freaking big that it seems likely to me that his body will break down. Also, I don't think Soto is all that far behind Judge in terms of hitting. Definitely when it comes to defensive value, but how long will Judge add that value?
  12. yeah, I figure we will see the P4 champs, Boise as the 5th champ, and then 6 teams from the B1G and SEC, with maybe 1 more from either the ACC or B12
  13. They willingly played Tim Boyle
  14. uh, not sure what happened with your quote but I am not the one who said that... And I generally agree with you - superteams aren't really a thing in baseball like they are in basketball
  15. They sure didn't last week, but their D is suited for an old-school slobberknocker like Michigan played today
  16. average contract length for a top 10 or 20 is irrelevant when it has outliers like Turner, Bogaerts, Yamamoto, etc.
  17. It would be kind of hilarious for Francisco Lindor to come to Cleveland and win a WS with the Mets
  18. Thought I had today: Does Caleb get more control of the offense because Flus is a defensive guy? Like would Matt Nagy be giving him this type of freedom to make calls at the line? Or would he be more intent on showing he's the reason the offense is good?
  19. pretty sure his somewhat high snap was part of why Cairo got his one kick blocked
  20. Next season is make or break for Jed. If he goes into the season basically standing pat, he's letting his job ride on prospects coming up and being everything we hope they would be and for the returners to all stay steady or improve. That makes me think he's going to have to make at least 1 big move this offseason, whether it's for a starter or a big bat
  21. Check out the schedules for Rutgers and Indiana. Insane how easy they are. Illinois in Piscataway may be Rutgers' 2nd most difficult game
  22. That was the dumbest game I have ever been to
