  1. That would make me mad unless it involves a big time guy the Cubs just don't have
  2. How long until the announcers make a comment along the lines of "Maybe they should ask Favre to suit up" ?
  3. Another weak call that favors GB
  4. So that's two incredibly iffy penalties that have wiped out a Bears interception that led to 7 points for GB and one that wiped out a big first down for Chicago.
  5. I really want the Cubans, can never have too many talented arms and they will cost relatively little in terms of money compared to the potential they possess.
  6. well, looks like Stewart is headed to Philly to be the Union Sporting Director. http://sbisoccer.com/2015/10/union-hire-earnie-stewart-as-sporting-director
  7. Sure. He's a very good coach. He wouldn't be my top choice necessarily, but it's always kind of been understood that he'll be the USMNT coach at some point. He's as good as any MLS manager who would be up for it outside of Arena who probably doesn't want to work for Sunil Gulati again. Thanks (and thanks to USSoccer too - love your point - if you're not Jurgen, you've already got an advantage) I thought Kreis was very well-regarded. Who would be your top choice that's realistic?
  8. So...what is Jurgen doing then? Just losing games? Not re-working our youth dev model? Cool. Cool cool cool. Fired. That article also has a tidbit about Kreis and NYCFC parting ways and Patrick Viera coming in to coach. Good to see that club is as expensive a disaster as I'd figure it would be. Some MLS club will be very lucky to get Kreis who is an unfortunate victim of outside ownership not understanding MLS even a little bit but still dictating terms. This is Red Bulls firing Bruce Arena after one season all over again. Thoughts on Jurgen being replaced by Kreis potentially?
  9. please, just don't give up a run in the first inning
  10. Holy [expletive], that would be a complete disaster. So what would it take for us to get Harper after he asks to be traded away from that [expletive]? Vogelbach, McKinney, and Edwards? /s This inspired me to look up a list of youngest players in the majors, and while it took more work than anticipated, here's a short list of players older than Bryce Harper: Mookie Betts Xander Bogaerts Blake Swihart Joc Pederson Gregory Polanco Maikel Franco Manny Machado Kris Bryant Jorge Soler Baez is a little over a month younger than Harper Schwarber about 6 months younger Good grief is it insane to think of how good Harper is even though he is so young
  11. wasn't nervous at all... then I started reading this thread
  12. Paredes, Isaac SS R/R 5’12 175 02/18/99 love the listing for Paredes... 5'12''
  13. if Ducasse is indeed replaced, who will it be replacing him?
  14. I just wanna see/hear him go off on ESPN.
  15. Carson Fulmer out for the 7th, well over 100 pitches and with Vandy up 9-0
  16. Clearly the per 162 stats are always going to look hilarious when a guy is on a hot streak, but those are insane numbers that just put into a little better context how good he has been lately.
  17. BBRef has k/bb at 25/6 with a 282/338/493 in May, which excludes his first 7 games
  18. Jay at 1.1? seems odd to me... I know it's thought he's likely capable of starting, but wouldn't you want someone who at least has a track record of starting at 1.1?
  19. from Brett at BN: http://www.bleachernation.com/2015/05/22/addison-russell-is-on-a-tear-in-his-last-21-games-homered-last-night-video/
  20. This, completely this.
  21. Nobody is happy with his offensive production right not; needlessly bumping him to a new fulltime defensive position doesn't seem like the smartest way to try and kick start his production. Despite your histrionics over last night's loss, he's not some kind of defensive liability that needs to be moved. your probably right, i just wanna see baez. That's your solution to improving the offense? Call up a guy who struck out at a record pace last year and hasn't proven anything to replace a guy who for all of his struggles this year has proven that he is a decent major league hitter at the very least?
  22. As long as they're not doing anything like using Centerfield cameras to steal signs, I see no problem with it
  23. feeling good about tonight, sontensei started a thread
  24. Are you kidding me with that 3-0 strike to Montero?
