  1. This, a million times this.
  2. I doubt the NL DH will come this year, despite the fact that it is definitely a competitive advantage for the AL to have it. I'm sure that if the owners really want the International draft they'll get it, because the players union doesn't care if it doesn't affect their money in a negative way (and it wouldn't), but the players may use that as a bargaining chip to get something they really want (26th man maybe? Could see the fringe guys really wanting that extra spot)
  3. Should probably offer Heyward for Harper or Turner.
  4. Would love if Hendricks got the same zone as Kershaw Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Because it is the freaking playoffs..... Well yeah, but they've been in control all the way, nothing to worry about yet.
  6. How about one of those towering KB fly balls this time?
  7. So tired of the batting order conversation. They won 103 games with KB hitting 2nd most of the year, I think they will be ok. And lol Kendrick. KB is a bseball savant
  8. I moved down to about an hour away from STL this spring, and one of the worst things is that the only sports radio I can get to come in talks Cardinals all the time. During the season it wasn't so bad because I got to hear them complain about how much the Cards sucked. However, it has come up a few times since the Cubs traded for Chapman, and again today as I listened, about how he choked his gf and fired shots in the house. Now, I know the guy is pretty much scum of the earth, and I have no problem with the average person calling him out for that. But what really gets me is that this comes from fans of a team that WORE A PATCH FOR A YEAR TO HONOR A GUY WHO LITERALLY KILLED HIS GF AND HIS OWN DRUNK SELF! Not to mention their worship for LaRussa.
  9. Trying to decide if I need to make plans to go find a place to watch the games or not... Can I watch postseason games on MLB.tv with a valid subscriber login even if I live in the blackout area? If so, will it only be for the games listed here? Trying to decide if it is worth it or not to buy and/or if I need to make plans to watch elsewhere as I do not have the proper tier of cable and don't want to hassle with subscribing for a month and then unsubscribing. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/subscriptions/#game-grid
  10. https://theringer.com/kyle-hendricks-chicago-cubs-2016-mlb-playoffs-ffd1fe19614a#.8d53mzz4q Article on The Ringer website about Hendricks. It mentions a stat I found amazing: In his 30 starts this year, he never gave up more than 4 runs or went less than 5 innings.
  11. I am ok with any scenario that results in Daniel Murphy not winning something, because horsefeathers that guy.
  12. My only prediction: Cubs bludgeon the Rangers in a WS sweep, resulting in the Rangers ending the year with a negative run differential overall.
  13. If he moves out of CF, wouldn't he probably get a bit of a boost by playing RF? He's still a pretty stellar athlete, even if not the same as when he broke in.
  14. My reasoning wasn't parent-imposed, but I too played football in HS (thought not as successfully as you, I did earn 3 varsity letters and was a full-time starter for 2 years on decent teams) after only starting to play in 7th grade. I started playing because my HS did not offer soccer and I wanted to play a fall sport. I agree that the head start in skills is not worth the physical risk. In all honesty, I would be a little relieved if my son never wanted to play, but I certainly won't let him until 6th or 7th grade at the earliest.
  15. that would be a real ballsy move for a relative neophyte like Pace with a terrible track record to try and pull off. Give a veteran head coach a garbage team and back-to-back wasted first round picks and then kick him to the curb when things go predictably bad, only to give the job to the coach whose team has been falling apart for nearly as long as the Bears have and largely because of a poor "pro personnel decisions", which was your department at that team. True, then again, if he's picking a QB with a high pick thats all thats really going to matter in evaluating him. Then again it's a bold prediction because it has like 1% chance happening. Bold prediction number two. We keep Fox until he retires due to heart issues. This I put at better odds. 25% Maybe Fox will go full Lou Brown and have a heart attack while ripping his team this year...
  16. Read the story about Theo from Wright Thompson... after doing so I'm about 95% sure that Theo is responsible for "Jed's" Twitter account
  17. Or maybe Jimmy G just has a good amount of talent himself, and when surrounded by good talent and good coaching, it looks that much better. Brady is probably one of the top 2 or 3 QBs to ever play the game.
  18. Gotta figure Montgomery is getting a shot at the rotation next spring, right?
  19. I get that it would be more valuable for Jorge to play the outfield, but what would be so awful about the guy being a DH only? I mean, most teams seem to use their DH as a platoon spot or a spot for older guys to get rest days anymore. Why not get a young guy you can plug in at DH as long as he's healthy and be pretty confident he's going to hit some glorious dongs and not have to worry about him making a fool of himself in the field? I mean, to me that's still pretty darn valuable. To me, that would be worth more than a guy who can play a passable LF but hits like Avisail Garcia.
