  1. Put him and Zach Duke on your team and you have quite a start.
  2. Reality starting to really sink in. I cant believe with that payroll we can be so bad. Bad GM moves, terrible managing, and underperforming players. And then they complain when we boo them HAHAHA. Dodgers are in the same boat. Meanwhile, teams like the Twins, Indians, A's, Brewers, Marlins, Phillies, etc. all have better records than this worthless pile of crap team.
  3. I shut the TV off after that double that made it 6-3. Someone let me know if anything good actually happens.
  4. Tampa Bay could be eliminated, but who in the NL? They lost their chance with Montreal.
  5. It's not his money. Why not pay people to take your problems away for you?
  6. Maybe Dusty's Boys have been sent on an all-expense paid (by Dusty) golf outing this series. You know, his dudes need some R&R before the home stretch.
  7. The very definition of being a sports analyst is to be critical. I don't think he's doing it out of sour grapes. I just think he is far more realistic than most people are. The original poster didn't mention the positive thing he said about Lee and others.
  8. Bring back Chief Knocka-Homa!
  9. As long as they find new and creative ways to lose, they could be fun
  10. Sorry, didn't mean Patterson or Walker wouldn't be back. I just meant they wouldn't be considered a power position (though sometimes they swing like they want to be). I didn't know Nomar bought a house. In another thread, someone said he hadn't, and the prevailing thought was that he really wanted to play near where he grew up (southern California)
  11. I have no problem with moving south of the border. I wouldn't even mind seeing a team in Havana after Fidel is gone. Putting a team in a spanish-speaking city seems far more natural to me than a team in Montreal. ha ha. My team is in Havana in my simulated baseball league We're the Havana Diablos
  12. The right thing to do would be to ship Cedeno or Murton back to AAA for some playing time, which means they won't do that.
  13. I just started the thread as a hypothetical. I'm nto necessarily championing it as the right thing to do.
  14. That's all good and true, but where do the Cubs make up for the power? Nomar won't be back, and you're unlikely to replace him with a power hitter. Ditto Walker. Patterson/Pie the same. And god knows who will be in RF. Too many holes w/o power.
  15. This team needs a new look: 1 - Zambrano - SS 2 - Maddux - LF 3 - Wood - C 4 - Macias - P 5 - Ohman - 1B 6 - Novoa - CF 7 - Wuertz - 2B 8 - Hill - RF 9 - Prior - 3B (Dusty puts the best hitter 9th still)
  16. The rumors I've heard are Monterrey (sp?), not Mexico City. Mexico City has a higher altitudethan Colorado!
  17. Doesn't that mean that every day that a team is off? That's bad revenue for baseball to have teams not playing on a Friday, Saturday Sunday. Not to mention it makes scheduling an even bigger headache than it already is. Yes, i thought I already explained this earlier. You can't have odd numbered teams in each league.
  18. ha ha ha. I'm very proud. It's awesome. Thanks, but you have Kendall from Road Rules in yours. Meow!
  19. I think it was Lee on Friday in Shea. Not sure though. Before that, Aram in Philly. Oh, good then. 1 team homer per series ought to get it done.
  20. Hmmm, I guess Steve Stone and the Red Sox probably wouldn't have much use for Tony Gwynn. Ah Tony Gwynn comparisons now. :D Wasn't Gwynn a really good defender?? Also, it didn't hurt that he batted left-handed. One thing is for sure, Murton can hit lefties. I hope this board doesn't crash w/ excitement after Murton's single up the middle in the 2nd. :o Murton is pretty good defender. Can Murton hit righties? He surely did in the minors. We can blame the manager for not knowing if he can in the majors. Actually, coming into tonight he had 21 AB's vs. Lefties and 15 vs. Righties. Hitting .257 against righties (and something like .567 against lefties)
  21. Is it bad that I don't remember the last time the Cubs hit a home run?
  22. This game will end in misery still. It's the big tease.
  23. Well I took a little more time on mine Short enough for everyone? beautiful. I'd started cleaning mine up, but it still doesn't look that good. I cut macias out, blanked out the background, fixed the numbers, then reinserted him in, scaled him down, fixed the shadow, etc. Yeah, I thought about rescaling, but I figured i'd do a quick N dirty lasso With a gradated background like that, the rubber stamp tool is your friend!
