I thought we had decided upon bhogg but i was wrong. I posted the guys with the best records in the starters thread. yeah, i responded with the winning% of those guys

Is it safe to use bhogg...we did lose today. I think we should, obviously, go with the guys who had the best records in the regular season. The list looks something like this: Playoff Options: -Bhogg (obvious) -UMFan (8-3) -Southpaw19 (7-1) -soccer10K (7-3) -Flames24Rulz (6-4) -Cubbies75 (4-1) People who should not be allowed within the first five posts of the thread: -CT Cubs Fan (0-5) -Vance the Cubs Fan (0-3) i was also 4-1. Best by winning%: -Southpaw18 (.875) -Derwood (.800) -Cubbies75 (.800) -UMFan (.727) -soccer10k (.700) -bhogg (.667 in 3 games) -Flames24Rulz (.600)

You might just get your wish. Padres are getting blown out by the Brewers. Just need Colorado to win today and then tomorrow in the playoff. they'd face Peavy in a one-game playoff though

i fell out of love with baseball when i moved away from Wisconsin (the 1982 Brewers were my favorite team ever). I didn't watch much baseball at all between 1986 and 1992, but when I moved from State College to Chicago to go to DePaul, a friend of mine freshmen year got me back into it. First, the proximity of Wrigley and second, fantasy baseball.

for the love of christ, just win Penn State. Iowa and Temple are the only games I feel even remotely confident this team can beat this year (since they still have O$U, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan State and Purdue)

Holliday - 36 R. Braun/L. Berkman/M. Cabrera - 34 Only 5 players in all of MLB with 40+ this year. Only 6 in the AL with 30+ So, why? Crackdown on PEDs? Altered baseballs?

We need to have a playoff. As many as 8 teams every year should be in contention for the national championship every year. Also why is Wisonsin and top 5 team and not Ohio State? They have exactly the same credentials. because pre-season polls are stupid, that's why

So, let me see if I understand this. If the Mets pull off a huge comeback and the Phillies and Rockies win and SD loses, then there's a 4-team playoff. And if either the Mets or Phillies got the WC, then the Cubs would play the division winner? I would think that would be the best possible scenario because of the extra games they'd have to play. the Mets are certainly making a mockery of all this. Tim Kurkjian is crying somewhere

If SD wins today then nothing else matters for the Cubs. Even if the Mets and Phillies have to play a one game playoff it has no impact on the Cubs schedule. The only way it would is if the loser of that playoff is still in contention for the wild card and a SD win eliminates that possibility. yes, you are correct. my mistake.
