  1. you love that the top recruit in the nation didn't sign on National signing day? yeah, that's the kid I want...the one who is 18 and already doesn't want to play by the rules because he thinks he's too good for him. yeah, he won't hold out of NFL camp in 3 years for a huge contract or anything. Hey Tyrelle, maybe you'd heard of Maurice Clarett? learn from the past Or it could be that hes an 18 year old kid, trying to make the biggest decision in his life so far, and hes still undecided. But I guess that would just be absurd and arrogant of him. then why have a National Signing Day? To let HS kids have a start date to sign with schools. I thought it was THE day to sign, not the start. My apologies
  2. the deal gets Miami out from under the Shaq deal, but there is about a 0% chance Marion resigns with them

  5. I don't have that handy. But why don't you check this stat out? Runs by inning: 1st inning - 114 runs 2nd inning - 69 runs 3rd inning - 93 runs 4th inning - 79 runs 5th inning - 80 runs 6th inning - 94 runs 7th inning - 93 runs 8th inning - 72 runs 9th inning - 55 runs Ext inning - 3 runs Now I don't personally believe much in the effect of lineup order... but if Soriano is such a terrible leadoff hitter, how do you explain the Cubs scoring so many more runs in the first (the one inning he's guaranteed to lead off) than in any other inning? Cubs say....leadoff hitter.....lefty.....
  6. i'm not a Star Trek fan by a long shot, but what little I saw of Voyager was pretty dumb. Every episode they get in a battle and the ship gets effed up, but by golly, they find somewhere in the endless stretch of the Delta Quadrant to fix that baby up, restock supplies, and press forward. Also, is space communications so bad that your SOS signal isnt' heard by anyone?
  7. Purdue is 9-1 in the Big 10
  8. if only Star Wars had the Holodeck
  9. and hot young princesses in gold bikinis
  10. Sanders may never play again after that shot to the noggin. I think they have came out and said he is for sure not playing in 08. Sanders took a shot to the head too? Or are you thinking of Juan Encarnacion?
  11. if Star Trek alien chicks' "business" look anything like their foreheads, i'll have to pass
  12. my guess is that every one on that list will want a ML contract
  13. i've never seen ads since the conversion to 3.0

  15. i still think BAL owes us for Freddie Bynum and Mike Fontenot.
  16. Mitt Romney, the Chicago White Sox of the 2008 Presidential Race
  17. Very grudgingly, I'd vote McCain. I'm less than excited by him, but he'd still be marginally better than the Dems. I prefer Romney, but I can't say I'm a big fan of his either. Republicans should have gone for Fred Thompson. Of course, he didn't help his case by not getting his name out there better. I'm pretty sure Fred Thompson and myself agreed on zero issues. Maybe even like negative 3 issues. I agreed with him on many issues. Not all, but the vast majority. I'm hoping either Romney or McCain choose him as VP (which is possible for McCain since he'll need to grab the conservative vote). i will never support any candidate who is either anti-gay rights and/or anti-women's choice.
  18. guy on CNN last night showed that someone can "win the state", say, 55% to 45%, but end up with less delegates. He said you have to look at each of the 51 districts individually. That being the case (plus the fact that CA is on the west coast) i have a feeling that the true results won't be in until early morning Wednesday
  19. With all the great teams Joe has had, he's never developed a really good QB. kerry collins was a very good college and was okay in the nfl. but not a really good nfl quarterback, obviously. he was a good college QB his senior year (not so much his junior) and was a solid but not spectacular QB in the pros. He helped Carolina get a decent record early in their existence and went to the SB with the Giants
  20. With all the great teams Joe has had, he's never developed a really good QB. it's because to him, the function of a QB is to hand the ball off, manage the clock, etc. the cliche is that the game has passed him by, but when you watch him every game every year (and read the local papers), it's totally true. the only reason the 2005 team opened the offense up with Michael Robinson is because the playcalling was "taken away" from Paterno that year. I guarantee that the next head coach at PSU (assuming it isn't Jay) will make big changes to the offensive philosophy
  21. yes, but Penn State is notorious at not coaching QB's well. they've sent, what, two starting QB's to the NFL in the last 20+ years? (Collins/Blackledge)
  22. i know he just retired, but how about Craig Biggio?
  23. okay, let's see: NL East ------- ATL (Wrigley) NYM (Wrigley) FLA (Wrigley) MON (Wrigley...don't think I've seen the Nats) PHI (Wrigley, Veterans) NL Central ---------- CHC (Wrigley, PNC, Miller) MIL (Wrigley, Miller, Mil. County) CIN (Wrigley) HOU (Wrigley) STL (Wrigley) PIT (Wrigley, PNC) NL West -------- ARZ (Wrigley) COL (Wrigley) LAD (Wrigley.....saw them hit 7 HR off Anthony Young) SDP (Wrigley, Opening Day in like 1994) SFG (Wrigley) AL East ------- BOS (Fenway, Spring Training) NYY (Yankee) TOR (Cell, Spring Training, Fenway) BAL (Milwaukee County) TB (Jacob's Field) AL Central ---------- CHW (Cell) CLE (Jake) DET (Cell) KC (Wrigley) MIN (Not sure on this one) AL West -------- LAA (Cell, Milwaukee County) TEX (Cell) SEA (Also Not Sure) OAK (Cell) So that's just 2 teams that I can't remember if i've seen them or not.
