  3. speaking of which, could WGN buy the naming rights? maybe, you know, get all the games back on the Superstation in the deal?
  4. He's a BS maestro. In this postmodern world the less sense one makes, the more one makes sense. Or so it seems. and being a former ballplayer guarantees you a job much like being a former NBA player guarantees you a spot on any ESPN NBA studio show
  5. Petrick is on the 40 man roster, so for him to be sent back to the minor leagues he has to use up one of his options. The rest are non-roster invitees, so they can just get assigned back to the minor league camp. OK, but why does he have to actually go to Iowa right now? Why can't he use an option and just go to minor league camp in sunny, warm AZ??? he doesn't go to Iowa, he stays in AZ at the MiL camp did we change trp AAA affiliates? I thought it was Pittsburg? No. We changed AA affiliates last year. well that went right over your head, didn't it
  6. up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start
  7. remind me again....bench guys do or do not accumulate stats each week?
  8. he was on deck when Hank broke the record
  9. Nah, that was a sober pick, SON. haha, I wrote that and I was like, "maybe i should edit that cause it looks like i'm making fun of his pick instead of laughing at him for deleting the formatting for the small text". but then I decided I liked it the way it was. SON ha ha ha. i immediately went and looke Harden up to see if he was out for the season or something. i couldn't figure out why you were making fun of the pick
  10. dusty doesn't understand that hits are factored into OBP. it's the only explanation
  11. it's an "unearned" trip to first base
  12. It not so much he missed on "selling high" on the Knicks picks, it just think his picks were questionable then, and even moreso today. You pass on both LMA and Roy to take Thomas. Very questionable. technically, he picked LMA and then traded him for Thomas
  13. is the HR guy batting 1st or 5th?
  14. Isn't the order Derwood, Andy and myself (twice)? yeah, he didn't go out of order. He went after earth2sean, then I went, so next it will go Andy, RRx2, Andy, and me again
  15. What's really amazing to me is that someone could be in baseball for their entire adult life and not understand a fundamental principle of the game. or that General Managers wouldn't call up some references before hiring a manager

  23. i don't have ESPN Insider, but the main MLB page at ESPN.com has a link that says "Roberts staying an Oriole for now"
  24. OBP is based on plate appearances, not at-bats, so everything, including walks, sac flies, etc. counts towards the average. if he goes 3 for 3 with a sacrifice bunt, he's batting 1.000 but OBP'ing .750
